I strive to capture the essence of the subject matter and to allow the painting to become the ex pression of what I see and respond to. I choose to express the joy that I expe rience in life and in painting. I hope that you, the viewer, enjoy what you see in my work and let your imagina tion explore along with me. As Oscar Wilde once said, ‘A work of art is use less. So is a flower.’” Steve Dmetruk, who began wood- Piece by Steve Dmetruk working as a hobby in 2002 and then enhanced his skills by taking courses and workshops, is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy.
