News for Local Churches From The Church Bulletins Page 14, April 8, 2019, The Islander Hews A As we approach Palm Sunday and Holy Week our hearts and minds are focused on the events of that last week of Jesus’ life on earth but with the joy of knowing that one day The King is coming again. Sing these words of Bill and Gloria Gaither this week as we experience the events which go from joy to despair - and end with joy. “The market place is empty - no more traffic in the streets. All the builder’s tools are silent, no more time to harvest wheat. Busy housewives cease their labors, in the courtroom no debate - work on earth is all suspend ed as the King comes through the gate! “Happy faces line the hallways, those whose lives have been redeemed. Broken homes that He has mended, those from prison He has freed. Little children and the aged hand in hand stand all aglow, who were crippled, broken, ruined clad in garments white as snow! “I can hear the chariots rmnble, I can see the marching throng, the flurry of God’s trmnpets spell the end of sin and wrong. Regal robes are now un folding, Heaven’s grandstands all in place. Heaven’s choir is now assembled - start to sing “Amazing Grace!”, Oh “The King is coming! I just heard the trmnpet sounding and now His face I see! The King is coming - Praise God - He’s coming for ME!” An early Spring and late Easter mean our world is not as colorful as usual for Easter Sunday so we will fo cus on the beautiful people all around us as we gather together for this spe cial time.
