in mechanical engineering from Flor
ida Atlantic University and worked
for Florida Light and Power for five
years early in his career.
Cartwright has been employed by
Georgia Power for 13 plus years. He
began his Georgia Power career in
Forest Park as a design engineer and
then became a Transmission Main
tenance Supervisor living for three
years in Savannah and one year in
Atlanta.
In fact he met his predecessor
during the three years he lived and
worked in Savannah.
Most recently he served as Trans
mission Maintenance Supervisor in
Macon. He managed Georgia Power
assets from 46KV to 500KV.
Cartwright is very familiar with
the Golden Isles and was involved
early on with the project planning
to replace the Georgia Power poles
on the Jekyll Causeway, and as a

everything but they are thankful to
be alive.”
He plans a mission trip to the
Bahama’s.
Cartwright and his wife Cherise
and have two children, Dawson, age
11, and Olivia Jane, age 6. Both chil
dren will attend Heritage Christian
School.
Cartwright has a passion for mak
ing communities better. “It is my re
sponsibility to grow, promote, and to
build thriving communities served by
Georgia Power,” he said.
He is very much a family man
and enjoys sporting events especial
ly when he and his son are enjoying
them together.
He and his family attend St. Jo
seph Catholic Church in Macon and
look forward to finding a home at ei
ther St. Francis Xavier in Brunswick
or St. William on St. Simons Island.
Georgia Power names new Area Manager

Dialo Cartwright has been named
as the Georgia Power Area Manager
for the Glynn, Camden, and McIn
tosh counties area. He replaces Paulo
Albequerque who served as Area
Manager for three years.
Cartwright earned a B.S. degree

supervisor was responsible for the
maintenance of those poles.
As a maintenance supervisor he
has been responsible for trouble
shooting as well first response after
a storm and storm restoration includ
ing Hermine, Matthew, and Irma.
“I am well
aware of the pro
active mainte
nance needed
from Georgia
Power on the Tor-
ras Causeway,”
he said. “I know
the coastal area,
and I know the
system.”
He is also fa
miliar with Geor
gia’s snow and ice
storms and led
a Georgia Power
team to Rome and
Canton during
the 2018 snow /
ice event.
Cartwright
grew up on Grand
Bahama Island.
He is Bahamian
but with a twist.
His father, also
Bahamian, has
an Irish back
ground, hence the
Cartwright.
He watched
Dorian with help
lessness but is
thankful that his
family is all okay.
