A federal indictment
against Glynn County Board
of Education member Audrey
Gibbons along with eight
other Brunswick residents
has been filed in U.S. District
Court Delaware District.
The indictment states that
each of the defendants was a
“money mule.”
The defendants are: Asaad
Amir Hasuan (aka Dante
Fredrick); Deborah Daniel-
stunstill; Destinee Lecount;
Audrey Gibbons; Penny Hunt
er; Beverly Fredrick; Lakisha
Easton; Jasmine Warren; and
Manuel Joseph Rocha.
According to the indictment
Hasuan, while in the Glynn
County Detention Center
and in Telfair State Prison in
McRae-Helena, Ga., “perpe
trated fraud schemes against
the family and friends of his
fellow inmates.”
He falsely promised to pro
vide legal assistance, physical
protection, and investment op
portunities to his victims.
He also conspired with oth
ers to launder the proceeds of
the fraud schemes.
All defendants are charged
with Conspiracy to Commit
Money Laundering (Count
one) from around September
2021 and continuing up to at
least May 2024.
The indictment states that
Danielstunstill, Lecount, Gib
bons, Hunter, and Frederick
opened and maintained bank
accounts in their own names
and in business names for re
ceiving and transferring funds
obtained through fraud.
Danielstunstill’s accounts
were listed at Marshland
Credit Union, Bank of Amer
ica, and the Navy Federal
Credit Union.

The City will host their annual
Christmas parade on Saturday,
December 14, starting at 6:00 at
Howard Coffin Park and going
down Gloucester St. to Mary Ross
Park.
Glynn County will light their
Christmas T ree at 6:00 on T uesday
December 3 at the St. Simons pier.
Jekyll Island kicked off their 'Holly
Jolly Jekyll’ Christmas season on
Friday, November 29, which runs
through Sunday, January 5.

The Glynn County Board of
Commissioners (BOC) recent
ly awarded a contract to the
Moffatt and Nichol engineer
ing consultants for the design
of the Saint Simons Island
Gateway and Demere Road
Improvements and Drain
age Project in the amount
of $1,158,291. Funding will
be provided by the SPLOST
2022.
This will be a major road
project designed to alleviate
traffic back-ups and delays
coming onto and leaving St.
Simon Island.
A total of four proposals
were received in August. A
thorough two phased review
and evaluation was conducted

Frederica traffic
study underway

The Glynn County Board of
Commissioners (BOC) recent
ly approved a traffic study for
Frederica Road on St. Simons
Island.
According to county offi
cials, the study will gather
updated traffic data and iden
tify both short and long-term
implementable improvements
along the length of the cor
ridor that runs from Demere
Rd. to Lawrence Rd. on the
north end of the island.
“The study will evaluate
current traffic patterns, ana
lyze key intersections and rec
ommend strategies to enhance
traffic flow and safety,” said
county officials, “Additionally,
the analysis will account for
planned infrastructure proj
ects, including the St. Simons
Gateway and the Frederica
