Permar It’s been just over a decade since the Board of Trustees of the Brunswick Glynn and St. Simons Island Public Librar ies were given permission by the University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents to withdraw from the Three Rivers Regional Library Sys tem and form the Marshes of Glynn Libraries (MOGL). On July 1, 2025 MOGL will celebrate their 12th birthday and in that time a number of changes have taken place at the two local libraries. The Glynn County Board of Commissioners (BOC) stood up and became the sole, local funding source for the new MOGL. The Glynn Board of Education and Brunswick City Commission had with drawn their financial support Turn to Page 6 MOGL Fallon discusses county strategic plan and SPLOST 2022 By Pamela Permar- Shierling Speaking last week (Mon day, Dec. 9) at the Golden Isles Republican Women’s meeting Glynn County Man ager Bill Fallon discussed the County’s Strategic Plan, Mis sion Statement, Values, Goals and how the county is execut ing its strategic plan. The Strategic Plan includes three goals and lists objectives for each goal. These goals and objectives are listed on the county’s web site along with the progress of the goal driven initiatives. • Goal One: Cultivate a Culture of Service Excellence. The county conducts quar terly execution reviews (QER) which allows each department Turn to Page 2 Republican Women County honors employees Last week (Thursday, Dec. 12) the Glynn County Board of Commissioners and administration honored a number of their employees for longevity on the job with a lunch at the Selden Park gymnasium, an event they do annually at this time of year. More than 100 employees were recognized for their employment from 5 years up to 51 years. Top: The five employees with the most time on the job included (second from left to right): Jean Breland - GIS Analyst 45 years; Andrew ‘Pee Wee’ Moses - Mechanic 51 years; Robert Harrell - Public Works Supervisor, 45 years; Wesley Heyward Equipment Operator 39 years and Bobby Moses - Facilities Maintenance Superintendent 32 years. Taking part in the event were: Human Resources Director Dwayne Pollock (far left); County Manager Bill Fallon (rear center) and County Commission Chairman Wayne Neal (far right). Below: At 51 years, Glynn’s longest-serving employee Andrew Moses spoke briefly telling the crowd he loved what he did and was blessed to have worked for Glynn County for so many years. He received a hearty round of applause from his co-workers when his name was announced.
