Cinema Gourmet features Blade Runner Nunnally House Guests enjoy holiday meal The Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brought holiday cheer to the South east Georgia Health System Founda tion Nunnally House on November 21, serving a festive meal to patients, their families, and visitors. The meal featured a variety of ham, casseroles, vegetables, and an array of desserts. In addition members of the Relief Society generously collected food do nations for the Nunnally House pan try, which supports cancer patients by providing essential items such as canned goods, snacks, and ready-to- eat meals. Thanks to their kindness, the pantry has been fully replenished. This year marks a decade of the Re lief Society’s annual holiday meal de livery to Nunnally House, a cherished tradition that has brought comfort and cheer to countless individuals. Nunnally House at Southeast Georgia Health System offers com fortable accommodations for cancer patients, family members of critically ill patients, medical students, and on- call medical staff. The facility is de signed to create a warm, inviting en vironment with well-appointed rooms, kitchenettes, and cozy common areas, along with housekeeping services and all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The film’s screening and dis cussion are paired with the culinary delights of Chef Judah Lynch and Indigo Coastal Shanty. The evening’s events begin with delicious food at 6:30 p.m. Blade Runner, released in 1982, is one of the most popular and influ ential science-fiction films ever made and though a box-office failure when released, it has now become a cult classic. Set in a very futuristic 2019, a for mer bounty hunter/blade runner, is called out of retirement to search for four android replicants who have es caped their enslaved off world lives and returned to earth in search of their creator to force him to prolong their limited life-span. With themes of artificial intel ligence, globalization, identity and freedom, it remains a relevant and timeless film starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young and Daryl Hannah. Seating is lim ited for the food, talk and movie, so audience mem bers are encour aged to purchase their tickets ear ly. The deadline for buying tickets (that include the meal) for Blade Runner is mid night on Monday, January 6, 2025.
