An event around which centered !
much interest last week, was the
“Mothers' Meeting’’ held at Hie
attractive home of Mrs. J. L. I’ibb,
I'u -sdny afternoon.
At these meetings subjects are
discussed, papers are read mil ad
dresses made of vital interest to

The meetings are held under the

when Mrs Tabb consented to be
come hostess at these affairs for
one year, she imp- s d on herself
a labor of love for the upbuilding

The belove hostess has had sug

ihe proposes to change the title.
Here after ladies will be invited to

D .lighters, mothers, wives and

subject on this occasion was
“Purity.”
'I be faces of the ladies, the home,

we had but one regret, and that,
that so many residents of this sec-

Miss Alice Bateman gave a read

idvocated the co-oppyration of pn

any influence liable to tarnish tl.e
characters of boys and girls. Her
illustrations were fine.
Ihe president, Mrs. B. C. Bird,
offered a most earnest prayer,

At the homo of Hie brides par

a quiet wedding was solemnized

The high contracting parties in

their immediate families, but when
the pews reached Morgan, several
>t their friends went to the attrac
tive home and were gladly admit
ted to hear the pledges made by
the happy couple.
Following the ceremony Mr. and
Mrs Jones ei lered a:r automobile
and were driven to this city.
The girl bride is only about sev
enteen years of age. She is a rep
resentative of oueof Calhoun coun

rare beauty is enhanced by a char
ming cordiality frank and sincere.
The groom is the second son oi

possesses a quiet disposition, and
stands aloof from the vices in
which many young men indulge.
He enjoys the confidence and es
