Being Tried.

E. Fudge for the killing of Chief
Police J. W.-Weott, in December,
is progressing.
Intense interest is Centered in
the trial.
The following gentlemen were

Blakely, the latter a brother-in-law
of the defendant, are representing
R. E. Fudge.
Solicitor B T. Cast -How and
Col. B. B. Bush, of this city, are
the prosecuting attorneys.
Mr W. J. Bush, the second juror
chosen, <s not related to the de
fendant by marriage, as some were
inclined to believe.
Mr. Bush' youngest brother, Mr
Isaac Bush, and Miss Irene Fudge,
a sister of the defendant, wen
martied some years ago. She, ot
course, is a sister in law of Mr. W
J Busti.
The court house is tilled witl
spectators, and scores of ladies ar<
amoug them. Standing i ou, can
hardly be obtained.
LATER: Just before going ti
press the jury rendered a verdict
finding the defendant guilty ol
murder with a recommendation ti
the mercy of the court.
The evidence showed that tin
tragedy was enacted while the de
fendant was intoxicated: and tin
gnat burdens of Buffeting was
chiefly caused by the men furnish
ing the occurred liquor.
