Sunday evening, the 24 iust.
Presiding Elder E. M. Overby of
Thomasville is to preach at the
Methodist chnrcb here. When
this distinguished gentleman used
to be pastor of the church here he
easily won the love or esteem of
all who knew nim; and many who
predicted high honors for him
then will be glad to hear him now.
The Liberal was requested to ?x
--press an urgent invitation to all
to come out and hear •‘Brother’
Overby.
Young men, young women, boys
and girls, think about this: the
time you waste, the money you
waste and the opportunies y>. u
waste never Come back; and you
will suffer and will prove the truth
of the proverb “Willful wastes
make woeful wants.” If our
readers could burn this paragraph
into the hearts and lives of 500
young people in this section this
issue alone, would be worth thous
ands of dollars to this country,
Court Approaching.
Superior Court is to convent
here Monday. Several cases have
been placed on the ducket that
are eliciting much interest, among
them are Miller Co. vs. VV. I.
Moody, four cases; Hilda bailey
vs xk. C. Bailey, alimony; Loiiie
3ones vs M. D. Jones, divorce; on
civil docket, but the criminal dock
et is light now.
The grand jury will have to act
on the charge of murder vs Jim
Walker; and on the charges vs

Mr. G. J. Kimbrel accompanied
by his family and Mr. G. T. Mc-

buy parts for a peanut thrasher.
They were not sold here; but he
and Mr. McLendon found them

For The Home
The unique entertainment given
Friday evening on the court house
lawn for the benefit of the Vashti
Home for unfortunate girls in
Thomasville netted $20.00, as fur
bished a lot of fun for all who at
tended.
Each guest furnished a lemon.
This was cut for the “free’’ lemon
ade served and the seed were
carefully counted and the doner
of the lemon gave as many cents
as there were seeds in the fruit.
I Mesilaines J. L. Tabb and W.
0. Hays conducted this pleasant
' affair.

pie pass over, O Lord Exodus Lju 16.
Have yoc come to the Red Sea Place in your life,
Where, in spite of all you can do,
There is no way out, there itf'no way back,
There is no other way but-—through?
Then wait on the Lord with a trust serene
Till the night of your fear is gone.
He will semi the wind, be will heap the Hoods,
When he says to your soul, “Go on.’’
And his baud will lead you through—clear through—
Ere the watery wails roll down,
No foe can reach you, no wave can touch,
No mightiest sea can drown;
The tossing billows may rear tneir crest,
Their foam at your feet may bieak,
But over their bed you shall walk drv shod
Tn the path that your Lord will make.
In the morning watch, ’neath the lifted cloud,
You shall see but the Lord alone,
When be leads you on from the place of the sea
To a land that you Lave not knuwn;
And your fears shall pass as your foes have passed,
You shall be no more afraid; '
You shall s>ng his praise in a better place
A place that his band has made.
