of Commissioners of Roads and Revenu
es of Miller County, will receive bids
for the construction of convict camp for
Miller County on the 16th day of No
vember next.
I Plans and specifications for said build
ling will be found in the office of the
Board.
The Board reserves the right to re

Stock Holders Meet.
The bank examiner Mr Pole, and
the stock holders of the First Na
tional Bank of Colquitt held an
anxious session at the Court Elouse
at 2 o’clock, the 9th inst.
All parties concerned refuse to
talk for publication. i

It was a pleasure Wednesday to
meet Mrs. Lucy Houston, who was
here attending to business. She
was the daughter of “Uncle Frank
Mock,” who after rearing a laige
family on the old Blakely road
went to his reward several years
ago. It was probably forty years
ago since the editress used to be
entertained in the “play bouses”
beautifully arranged by “Lucy
Mock” and her sisters. One of
“Uncle Frank’s sone bears the
name of Elton Brown Mock, a
compliment to the eldest brother
of ye scribe.

A Surprise Dining

Katie Maynard planned a pleasant
surprise for Miss Margaret May
nard last week.
The lassie mentioned
I last passed a birthday anniversary
Friday. Without her knowledge
I friends were invited to a six o’clock
dinner.

After school Friday afternoon
Miss Margaret was asked to visit
Miss Barrett, one of her
who boards some distance from the
Kimbrel home.
During her absence that after
noon the table was beautifully ar
ranged for the honoree and the
guests that would greet her when
she returned from her brief visit.
It was a six o’clock dinner. Tur
key and “every thing” nice was
daintily served.
Guests surprised Miss Margaret >
with their presence and surprised
her with their presents.
The occasion was much enjoyed.
Two charming young matrons,
Mesdames F. E. and James Fudge,
visited Mrs. Robert Mims in Baker
county .Monday.

Store Moved
The “Jew Joint” has been noved
i to Attapulgus.
i. Today the last load on the big
■ truck of Mr. T. F. Bohannon left
town. It also carried the manager,
I Mr. Lee Roy Kimbrel.
Mrs. Harry Stein took Misses
* Alice Cook and Waver Cleavland
. down on her cat. Her sou, Mr.
Harry Stein Jr., accompanied
them. The matron expects to re
turn tonight.
J’he sales people wilt be busy for
the next week arranging for the
opening of the store on the 17th
a big sale.
Miss Cook will probably remain
in Attapulgus till Christmas, if no
longer. Miss Cleavland expects to
stay during the sale; however she,
too may be detained indefinitely.
