Fifteen Years
Splendid Service
On the first day of March, 1907,
exactly fifteen years ago today, Mr
H M, Millar took charge of the
Colquitt poet office. *
To show his appreciation of this
position, Mr. Miller baa probably
epent the most vigorous fifteen
years of bis life in rendering effi
cient service.
The central position of Colquitt,
the splendid roads leading from it.
as well as the fact that it is lh<
county site of a fertile county, in
habited by thrifty people, are im
portant factors conducive to the
growth of this office.

Three Generations
At the hist meeting of tin Wo
man’s Missionary Society of tin
Baptist Chinch, representatives
of three generations were present.
Mesdames Mollie Dancer and A
J. Cowart, mother and daughter,
had each served as president of the
society, and the editress thought,
as she looked through the vista of
futurity, that it would not be long
before Mrs. F. C. Bell, a grand
daughter of the former, would be
presiding over the \V. M. S, of the
Baptist church, just as earnestly as
the two consecrated representatives
ahead of her bad done in former
years.
Mrs Bell’s mother has also been
a greatly beloved president of the
society.
Gardens are beginning to look
• pretty under the sunny skies ol
Miller county. Bvhns, Irish pots
toes and other vegetables are grow
ing fast.
Clerk J. E. Lane was up today
after a painful attack of a disease
akin to pneumonia. His son, Mr
J. E. Jr., is also recuperating from
the same disease.
Mr. Frank Brannon of Macon is
here visiting at the splendid apart
ments of Mr. and Mrs J. L. Tabb,
the latter his cousin. For several
years the visitor has held a posi
tion in the Fourth National Bank
of Macon.
After a pleasant stay in Atlanta
where they beard Sousa’s Band
Mr. snd Mrs. J. W. Bush of Al

Sister Dies
Early Thursday, Feb 16th, a sad
death occurred near Donalsonville
when Mrs. Debbie Harrell, the
widow of —. . Harrell, passed a
way after a long and tedious illness.
Three years ago when influenza
was raging the husband and father
-lied, and the wife and mpther
came near dying.
From then until the Death An
gel claimed her the gentle spirit
suffered, a victim of the great
white plague.
She is survived by five sons, the
youngest a little more than three
years and the next seven years of
age.
Three sisters, Mrs. ’SAviedeHe
Hunter, t>f this city, MissGarcrelJe
Wolfe, now an Inmate at the stric
ken home, and Mrs. J. A. Frick
if Sneads, Fla., and one brother,
Mr. B. H. Wolfe, residing near
Mr. Shiugler’s still, also survive
her.
The body was interred in Don
alsonville Thursday, the pastor of
the Nazarene church, of which she
was a devoted member, conduct

May He who notes the sparrow’s
fall care for the devoted sons and
the grief stricken sisters and
