Willie Ray Cochran

Ray Cochran, 80, passed away
Saturday, April 29, 2017.
Born in Commerce, he
was the son of the late Willie
Burch Cochran and Fannie Lee
Cochran. Mr. Cochran served
in the United
States Air
Force from
1956 until
being honor
ably discharged in 1962. He
worked on heavy equipment for
various companies, and retired
in 1995 as district supervisor
front Williams Company. He
served as past master of John H.
Jones Masonic Lodge #348. Mr.
Cochran was a member of the
original steering committee of
Athens Area Walk to Emmaus,
where he was active for many
years. He enjoyed gardening,
farming and was a member of
Jones Chapel United Methodist
Church for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife
of 58 years, Ernestine Gnann
Cochran; five children, Debra
Cochran, Thomas Cochran,
Clint Cochran, Melody Cochran
Christian and Mandy Cochran
Vinson; two siblings, Lee
Cochran and Weyntan Cochran;
eight grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday, May 2, at Jones Cha
pel United Methodist Church.

cemetery.

Rev. “Buddy” Coile
DANIELSVILLE - Rev.
Martin T. “Buddy" Coile, 82,
passed away on Wednesday,
April 26, 2017, at the Norton
Brownsboro Hospital in Louis
ville, Ky.
Rev. Coile was born in Madi
son County on August 27, 1934,
the son of the late John M. and
Jessie Maxine Coile. He was
preceded in death by his lov
ing wife, Jane Sartain Coile;
son; Charles Martin Coile; and
brother, Ronnie Coile.
A graduate of the University
of Georgia, he was retired from
the Georgia Department of Agri
culture, having served as the
director of the State Weights and
Measures Laboratory. He was
an ordained Southern Baptist
minister, who
served sev
eral churches
in Northeast
Georgia in the
1960's, and was for many years
the volunteer Assistant Pastor at
Jones Chapel United Methodist
Church in Danielsville. A vet
eran of the United States Navy,
he served on the aircraft carrier
USS Bataan during the Korean
Conflict. He was a founding
member of the Gospel Songsters
quartet, and a member of the
Jones Chapel United Methodist
Church.
Survivors include a son and
daughter-in-law, Mark and Lynn
Coile, Buckner, Ky.; daughter
and son-in-law, Melanie Coile
and Jay Kieve, Anderson, S.C.;
grandchildren, Kayla Coile,
Alex Coile, Jesse Kieve, and
Emma Kieve; and sisters, Betty
Hix, Darlean Duncan and Con
nie Busby, all of Comer.
Funeral services were held
Saturday, April 29, at the Jones
Chapel United Methodist
Church Family Life Center with
Dr. Jay Kieve, Dr. Charles R.
Smith and Rev. Richard Huckye
officiating. Burial was in the

Nicholson.

Homer; sister and brother-in-

Margaret Ann Wilson Frame,
84, beloved wife of Kenneth
Frame, Sr. for almost 60 years,
passed away at home on Sunday,
April 23, 2017, following a long
battle with Alzheimer's.
Beloved mother of Janet

(Keith), she is also survived by
her loving grandchildren, Mor

She was
preceded in death by her par
ents, Frank and Blanche Wilson;
son, Kenneth Frame, Jr.; and

Margaret was a graduate of
Memphis State University. She
devoted her life to education
and raising her three children.
She was a member of Briarlake
Baptist Church in Decatur, Ga.
She served through teaching 3rd
grade Sunday School, serving
in the media center, and she
was active in her Joy II Sunday
School Class.

Frost, 54, passed away peace
fully on Wednesday, April 26,
2017, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Frost was a longtime pre
school teacher with the Winder
First United Methodist Church,
where she impacted many chil
dren’s lives. She was a mem
ber of the Athens Church and
a strong community advocate.
In her free time, she enjoyed
walking with her friends. Mrs.
Frost was preceded in death by
her parents, I.T. “Spud” and Fay
Wall; and brother, Ronald Wall.
Mrs. Frost is survived by her
loving husband, Dr. Mark Frost,
Winder; son, Jarod Frost, Wind
er; daughters. Heather (Ryan)
Madden, Colorado Springs,
Colo., and Megan Frost, Brasel
ton; brothers, Gary (Mary Fran
ces) Wall, Winder, and Eddie

Otha was a plumber for 45
years and was a Sunday School

Carolyn Pearson, 84, passed
away Monday, May 1, 2017.
Mrs. Pearson was the daugh
ter of the late Boyd Dudley and
Allie Carey Dudley. She was
employed for many years at
C&S Bank before becoming a
bookkeeper at the University of
Georgia. Following her employ
ment at UGA, she worked as an
administrator at Athens Chris
tian College until her retirement.
Mrs. Pearson loved flowers,
gardening, sewing and cooking.
Most importantly, she loved peo
ple and enjoyed spending time
caring for others. She was pre
ceded in death by two brothers,
Calvin Dudley and Tom Dudley.
Survivors include her hus
band, Frank Pearson; one sister,
Katherine Dudley; and numer
ous other family and friends who
will miss her greatly.

Alice Mae Belle Coker Vaughn.
He served his Country in the
United States Army, and was
retired from Bellamy Construc
tion. After his retirement, he
was a farmer,

of Nails Creek
Baptist Church.
Mr. Vaughn was
preceded in death by his wife,
Magalyn Whitsel Vaughn.
Survivors include a number of
nieces and nephews.
