The team went on the road on Dec. 10 to face a hot East Forsyth Broncos team, a divi sion rival. The Broncos came into the game with a 7-1 record. East Forsyth got out to an early 18-10 lead after the first quarter, but the Raiders came storming back to win by a final score of 79-74. Stat leaders for the game against East For syth were: •Laderrion Walker- 33 points, 18 rebounds •Grant Smith- 22 points, 8 rebounds, 5 as sists •Aiden Self— 8 points •Da’Shun Brown — 8 points, 8 rebounds •Trynton Latimore — 8 points From there, the Raiders returned home to face Walnut Grove on Dec. 13, winning in grand fashion with a 66-23 blowout, the team’s largest margin of victory so far this season. Madison County then took on Stephens County on Dec. 17, and came out with anoth er dominant victory, outscoring the Indians 93-53. The Red Raiders are now at 9-1 for the sea son, and sit in second place in the region, be hind only North Oconee who gave the Raiders their only loss. The team will now begin play in the Red Raider Christmas Classic with a home game against 4-4 Richmond Hill on Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m. If they win, they will then face a yet-to-be- announced opponent on Dec. 21. The Raiders squeaked out a close game by a score of 60-57 on the road in East Forsyth. The team then dropped a close game on Dec. 13 to Walnut Grove at home. The Lady Raiders were able to start this week on a high note, however, with a blow out 61-30 win over the Stephens County Indi ans, who now drop to 1-8. Madison County, now 5-5 and tied for fifth place in the re gion, now look ahead to the Red Raider Christmas Classic. The team will enter play against the 0-7 Pendleton Bulldogs at home on Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. If they win they will play again the follow ing day on Dec. 21 against a yet-to-be-an nounced opponent. WELCOMES SOLOIST STANLEY PIERCE OF GAINESVILLE, GA Stanley Pierce will be singing at the Danielsville Methodist Church, 295 General Daniel Avenue N., Sunday morning, December 29 th at 11:00. Stanley organized and sang lead with his first gospel quartet, The Temple Aires in 1970. Since then he has sung with the Songsmen Quartet and Heaven Bound. He has sung temporarily with several other gospel groups as well. Now, he travels and sings as a soloist. He and his wife Peggy have a strong faith and love for our Lord and are avid supporters of Saint Jude's Children Hospital. Please come hear Stanley Pierce tell his story and sing his praises to the Lord. Everyone is welcome. o
