Since then he has sung with the Songs- men Quartet and Heav en Bound. He has sung temporarily with several other gospel groups as well. Now, he travels and sings as a soloist. He and his wife Peggy have a strong faith and are avid supporters of Saint Ju de’s Children Hospital. “Please come hear Stan ley Pierce tell his story and sing his praises to the Lord,” church leaders said. ONGOING EVENTS Moons Grove Baptist Church, 1985 Moon’s Grove Church Road, Colbert, has announced the dates for its free food distribution. 2025 distri bution dates will include 1/22, 2/26, 3/26, 4/23 and 5/28. Hours are from 10 a.m. to noon. The clothes closet will also be open during the food distribution. People can call the church to set up an appointment for the clothes closet as well. Gordon’s Chap el Methodist Church, Hull, will have its clothes closet opening every third Friday of each month from 9 to 10 a.m. The clothes closet is lo cated next door to the Sanford Community Center (6469 Nowhere Road) in the green build ing. Its food pantry will also be opening every third Thursday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m. The food pantry is locat ed at the Sanford Com munity Center (6469 No where Road). Not many people dispute the fact that Jesus was a Jewish historical figure who lived over 2000 years ago. The contro versy over Jesus is whether He was who He claimed to be - the Messiah, the Savior of sin ners. Some claim He was a great teacher, or even a prophet, but not the Messiah. But, if he was not the Messiah, then His claim that He IS the Savior of sinners was a lie. How could Jesus be a “great teacher” if He lied about who He was? If he was not a liar, He is who He claims to be. He was and is the Messiah, and we joyfully celebrate His birth again this Christmas!
