Temperance Drinks.
A few days ago as we were passing
along Bull street, we were met by a
friend, who stopped us and said, “I
am in the temperance business now,
and I can help you ; if you will come
around to my place I will give you
an advertisement.” By refering to
our advertising column on second
page yon will learn that Mr. M. T.
Qcinan, the friend referred to above,
now has charge as proprietor of the
well known soda water and bottling
establishment on Broughton st., near
Drayton, so long conducted by Mr.
John Ryan. Read his advertisement,
and if you want anything in his line ]
call on him and be will sorely treat
you right.
Scattered and Scattered.
Among the excitements on Barnard
street last Saturday afternoon, was
the running away of a horse attached
to a buggy. We did'nt witness the
accident, but as we were passing along
tlie above street, near the corner of j
Hull, we saw the top part of a buggy ]
sitting in the middle of the street, the
running gear portion having all gone, j
we suppose with the spirited animal.
We were told that it was an M. D.’s
turn-out. It seemed to be a queer
accident, that the wheels, shafts and
all the other part of the buggy should
be carried away, while the body and
top should be left and fall right side
up with care.
All in Blue.
The Mother Hubbard style of dress
it seems has’nt played out yet. She
was a pretty and young lady.and was
walking through Bull street, accom
panied by a well dressed, genteel look
ing man, appearantly middle age.
She wore a genuine Mother Hubbard
made of blue fllannel, had on a blue
hat that projected something less than
a foot over a pair of pretty blue eyes,
and the hat was trimmed with blue
ribbon. As the couple leisurely stroll
ed the great boulevard of Savannah,
every eye seemed fixed upon them,
or rather upon the Mother Hubbard
dress.
The Wesleyan Christian Advocate
has donned a new and handsome
spring dress, and looks as bright as it
is interesting. This sterling religious
Methodist organ should find it 3 way
into the homes of every Methodist
family in Georgia and Florida.
—Eastman Times : Rev. George C.
Thompson, of Darien, has furnished
a handsome design for the proposed
City Hall. We learn that work will
be commenced on the building at an
early day.
In order to facilitate the work of
the compositors on that live and ster
ling Florida semi-weekly, thePalatka
Journal, the proprietors have exhibit
ed a bit of enterprise by introducing
a type-writer into their editorial de
partment, with which all manuscript
copy is printed before given to the
typos. Now, we hope brother Adams
don’t write such a miserable poor fist
that the “jours” can’t cypher it?
Bargains in Clothing.
B. H. Levy & Bro. have a lot of
broken suits, etc., left over from their
fall and winter stock, which they are
offering at bargains and must sell, to
make room for their large spring and
summer stock, now arriving. Call
and secure a bargain in time.
—Friends, we respectfully solicit
your orders for job printing.
—Think of it, a sewing machine for
only 60 cents.

ing to the paper for some relative or
