The Bart Id’
By Rev. Arthur R.
Cazeault, Ass't Pastor,
Atlanta MCC
Do we really love our
neighbor as ourselves?
Friendship is so very im
portant to our existence
that persons living with
out such relationships have
frequently been known to
become psychotic. The
pangs of loneliness have
driven many persons to the
ultimate despair, that of
taking their own lives. Any
thing that could cause a
person with the capacity to
love and the gift of ra
tionalization to surge to
a state of depression which
destroys the instinct of
self-preservation must, of
its very nature, be an in
tegral part of our human
existence.
The fulfillment of this
need lies within our power,
and more importantly with
in our Christian call.
Loving ourselves is in
herent within this com
mand. How difficult this
becomes at times for gays,
living in a society that be
lieves we are sick, a
country that prosecutes us
as criminals and churches
which hold that we cannot
be saved.
Yet we have that basic
command from Christ,
“Come unto me, all you
who labor and are burden
ed and I will give you
rest.”
Remember, Christ said
all! Reach out to your
brothers and sisters: tell
them of the love of Jesus.
Proclaim the joy of his
salvation for “God has no
favorites but anyone who
loves him and does what
is right and acceptable to
him!”
So, love yourself, and
heed his command.

Hearing Test A Must
“With another school year
underway, parents should
make certain their children
are not encountering hearing
problems. And the only way
to be sure a child has normal
hearing ability is to have a
hearing test,” advise officials
of the Beltone Crusade for
Hearing Conservation.
The crusade is sponsored by
Chicago-based Beltone Elec
tronics Corporation, world
leader in hearing aids and
electronic hearing test instru
ments, as a means of building
public awareness to the need
for hearing conservation.
Crusade officials point out
that gradual hearing losses
can go unnoticed by a child as
well as his parents and teach
ers.
