THE BARB - 9 Macon Hosts G. For the first time this year, Macon’s Gamma Alpha Yiota Fraternity has expanded its annual Gay Awards into a two- night event. This will be the third year GAY has presented the awards, with ever-increasing response from the gay community in Macon and from throughout the Southeast. Last year the We Three Lounge, where the affair is held, was packed to the rafters, and the number jof out-of-towners attending prompted the establishment of awards for persons from Georgia, Florida and the Carolihas. It was because of this response that the GAY’s decided to make the Awards a two-night event this year. On Friday night, November 7, the We Three will rock to a special D.J. night and roar to a first -class show that will feature some of the best talent available in the Southeast. Interspersed throughout the evening will be the announcements of nominations for the twenty-odd (!) Awards. The final awards themselves will be presented the following night—Saturday, November 8. The ceremony will be hosted again this year by GAY President Paul Ragan, and will also feature top enfprtainmeht. It promises to be a first-class hoot. Each year, the members of Gamma Alpha Yiota vote on the Awards at a dishy, secret meeting just prior to the ceremonies, and so far they have always managed to keep their lips sealed (at least as far as telling about the win ners is concerned) until the time of the presentations. Macon will be the spot in the South the weekend of November 7 and 8, and Charles Elkins of the We Three and all the members of Gamma Alpha Yiota extend a warm invitation to gays everywhere to join them. They promise' plenty of Southern Hospitality-Macon’s style, and you don’t know what hospitality is until you’ve been to Macon! Admission at the door each night will be $4.00, and an advance ticket for both nights can be purchased at the door November 7 for $6.00. The best deal, however, is to buy advance tickets by mail before November 7 for only $5.00 which will admit you to air the events both nights. Mail your ticket request to Charles Elkins, We Three Lounge, 434, Cotton Avenue, Macon, Georgia 31201, Charles will also be glad to give you directions to the We Three if you’re a first-timer. In policy making positions, we seek those whose goals and objectives are in harmony with those of this ad ministration. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, religion or any other in dividual preference.
