- Wednesday, December 7,1994, Houston Times-Journal Page 2A | Death notices Robert Lee "Bobby" Cannon EATONTON- Robert Lee "Bobby" Cannon, 61, of Eatonton, died Monday, Nov. 28, 1994 at his residence. Born in Houston County, he had resided here in Eatonton for nine years. He was a member of the Hayneville Baptist Church. Bobby was a retired Supply Supervisor with Robins Air Force Base and was the husband of Joyce Gardner Cannon. Survivors: wife, Joyce Gardner Cannon of Eatonton; son, Randy Cannon of Perry; two daughters, Denise Adams of Kathleen and Tracy Alfano of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Corine Hamsley of Hayneville; and five grandchildren. Services: Were held Wednesday, Nov. 30, 1994 in the Hayveville Baptist Church at 2 p.m. The Rev. Gene McKinney officiated. Burial took place in the Hayneville Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Baldwin County, Inc. 811 N Cobb St., Milledgeville, Ga. 31061. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry had charge of arrangements. Gertrude Baggett Greer Gertrude Baggett Greer, 87. of 2500 Hwy 41 N, died Friday, Dec. 2, 1994. Gertrude was the daughter of the late James and Viola Bigbee Baggett, was a homemaker and a member of the Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Murphy Greer. Survivors: two daughters, Betty Harris of Norfolk, Va„ and Vina Parrish of Mt. Holly, N.C.; two sons, Charles Greer of Virginia Beach, Va. and Lewis Greer of Hertford. N.C.; brother and sister, Hubert Baggett of Dothan, Ala., and Alice Adams of Talladega, Ala.; stepmother, Josephine Baggett also of Talladega, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren. Services: Were held Monday, Dec 5, 1994 in the Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church at 2 p in. The Revs. Ralph Parrish and Dorris Dameron officiated. Hospital releases list of EduCare classes for December 1994 Perry Hospital has released the list of EduCare classes for the month of December. Alzheimer’s Support Group Join family members and care givers of persons with this disease and receive mutual support and ex change coping skills. The group meets Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. in the hospital dining room. There is no cost. Bike Safety Pre-registration is required for this course which teaches children bike safety. Kids attending will receive a bike helmet and a bike safety cer tificate. The course will be held from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20 in the hos pital’s cafeteria. Cost is $5. Positive Pregnancy This is a series of four classes held every Tuesday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Topics will include diet, body changes, labor and delivery and care for the newborn. Rozar, 90, of Oregon, Illinois, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 1994 in her home after a short illness. She was bom March 26, 1904 in Felton, Ga. and was the daughter of John and Ida Cook Garner. She married J. Frank Rozar in Felton on September 1, 1929. She is preceded in death by her husband, J. Frank Rozar and by 3 sisters and 4 brothers. She lived most of her life in Perry, where she was very active in the Baptist Church. She moved to Oregon, Illinois in August 1992 to make her home near her daughter. She was a member of the Oregon Baptist Church. Survivors: daughter, Frances (Clinton) Strouse of Oregon; 4 granddaughters, Pam Pucket of Madison, Wi„ Cindy Puckett and Michelle Strouse, both of Oregon; grandson, Christopher Strouse of Oregon; and her great-grandson, Dillon; 2 brothers, Truman (Inez) Gamer of Stevenson, Ala. and Fred (Ival) Gamer of Rome, Ga. Services: Will be held Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. in the Farrell-Holland Funeral Home with visitation from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service in the funeral home. Other services will be held Saturday, Dec 10, 1994 at 2 p.m. in the Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will take place in the Rozar Cemetery in Eastman. Visitation will be Friday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established. Odie Mae Stanley Odie Ma.e Stanley, of 633 Hillcrest Ave., died Sunday, Dec. 4. 1994. A native of Alexander City, Ala., she was the daughter of Noland and Amy Mtxxiy Maddox. She had moved from Peach County to Hou.mwh county in 1955. She and her husband, the former R E. Stanley, established Stanley Furniture Company for which she was president for 25 years. Making its debut in the *6Bth Macy's Thanksgiving day Parade, the band was joined by three-time gold medalist, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, who waved the Olympic flag. Izzy, the official 1996 Summer Olympic mascot,followed closely behind. The 300-piece band was formed three years ago by the Cultural Olympiad and performs at events such as "Celebrate Africa", Macy's Thanksgiving Day Ptirade and Egle ston Children's Christmas parade, which was in Atlanta Dec. 3. McGukin competed against high school and college music students from all over Georgia for a position in the band. The students must au dition annually to hold their posi tions.
