DOUGLAS - Lendsay Mi/ell,
67. of North Street. Douglas passed
away May 29 at the VA Medieal
Center in Augusta, following an
extended illness, lie was a former
resident of Perry.
Mr. Mizcil, a native of Atkinson
County, was the son of Grady
Glenn and Willie Gladys Williams
Mizeil. Me was a Veteran of the
United States Army having served
during the Korean Conflict and he
was a retired mechanic.
Survivors: wife, Vonell
Musgrove Mizcil of Douglas: 3
daughters. Judy Mizcil Dunn of
Griffin, Julie Ann Mizeil of
Douglas, and Louise Mizeil Wright
of Axson; 10 sons, M.L. Mizeil,
Nick Mizeil, Henry Mizeil, Ray
Mizeil, Jeff Mizeil, all of Douglas,
Tony Mizeil of Kathleen, Ira Mizeil
of Lancaster, Cal., Kay Mizeil of
Bonaire, John Mizeil of Clover,
SC, and Jim Mizeil of Griffin: 7
sisters, Lorriane Stone of Macon,
Hilda Markeltc of Ambrose,
Dorothalene Knowles of Daltona,
I'la., Lillie Frances Ricks of

grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by 1 brother, W.L. Mizeil.
Services: Were held June 1 at
the Mr. Green Church of God of
Prophecy near Millwood with Rev.
Dannie Ilix and Rev. Fverett
Williams officiating. Interment
followed at the Mt. Green Church
Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home of
Douglas was in charge of
arrangements.

BUTLER - Mike Mooring, 47,
died June 4. He was a graduate of
Macon County High School,
Montezuma, and Georgia
Southwestern College, Ainerieus.
He was a tax appraiser in Peach
County.

Emily Mooring, both of Perry; and
brothers and sisters, James C.

Eric Michael Brown
Erie Michael Brown, 24, died
Saturday, June 3. Eric is the son of
Ken Brown of Perry and Cynthia
Thomasen of Houston, Texas.
Grandparents are Lucille Brown of
Perry, the late James T. Brown,
Berta Yates of Cordele and the late
Julius E. Collins.
Survivors include a sister,
Magen Brown; step mother,
Patricia Dianne Brown : step sister,
Kristie Pirkle.

memorial service at Shiloh
Methodist Church, Vienna,
following cremation and a second
service at Genoa United Methodist

Lori Thompson, 26. will be at 3

Thompson died June 4. Born in
Peach County, she was the daughter
of the late L.G. Fogarty Sr. She
was a member of Logan Road
Baptist Church in Ozark, Ala. She
was a substitute teacher in the Dale
County, Ala., school system. She
was the wife of the late Lee
Thompson.

Cracker Barrel tops national survey
The restaurant chain known for
country cooking and good service
has once again been named the best
family dining chain in the nation.
Cracker Barrel Old Country
Stores were chosen the best in a
national survey by Restaurants and
Institutions magazine for the fifth
straight year.
The results of the chain were
published in the magazine's
February issue. Participants were
asked to rate each chain on a scale
of one (poor) to five (excellent) in
seven categories.

MARSHALLVILLE - Services
for Lonnie "Feel" Crocker, 78, will
be at 2 pm Wednesday, June 7, at
St. Louis AME Church,
Marshallville, with burial in the
church cemetery. Crocker died June
4 in a local hospital. Born in
Marshallville, he was the son of the
late Lonnie and Annie B. Crocker.
He attended the Macon County
Public Schools. He was retired
from Warner Robins Air Force
Base. He was a member of St.
Louis AME Church.

Eight arrested
in drug raid
From Staff Reports
A June 2 raid at a residence
along Marsha Drive in Perry
resulted in the arrests of eight
people and the recovery of drugs and
drug paraphernalia, according to
Perry Detective Bill Phelps.
"When we served a search
warrant we found drugs at that
location," said Phelps, who added
the arrests come as the result of an
ongoing investigation by his
department.
Those charged are: Marcus
Jerome Jackson, 34. of Piney
Grove Road, possession of schedule
I or II; Frankie Lee Releford, 39, of
Lime Rock Road, possession of
cocaine: Rosa Lee Barrett, 45, of
Marsha Drive, possession of
cocaine with intent to distribute and
possession of marijuana with intent
to distribute; Milton Barrett, 36, of
Marsha Drive, possession of
cocaine: Linda Loretta Green. 33. of
Cathy Street, possession of
cocaine: Jonathan Napier, 22, of
Marsha Drive, VGCSA possession
schedule I or II; Thaddeus Neal
Oliver, 32, of Hodge Road,
VGCSA possession schedule I or II
and Terry Miller, 40. of Marsha
Drive, possession of cocaine.
Detectives are also looking into
a burglary at the Piggly Wiggly on
Macon Road which occurred May
31.
No forced entry was found. An
unspecified amount of cash was
taken from a cash drawer.
* Another burglary at Southeastern
Motor and Trailer over the holiday
weekend resulted in the thefFof four
tires and wheels, along with valves
and an acetylene tank, according to
police reports.
The investigation into what is
reported as robbery by intimidation
is still ongoing, according to
Phelps.
According to the cashier at the
Comfort Inn on Sam Nunn
Boulevard she was approached by a
Hispanic male on June 5 around
11:15 p.m. who told her he wanted
money. A small amount of cash
was taken in the incident.
