the average American does. You see
older cars and older farm equip
ment, but no junk... Lots of the farm
equipment is gas powered and oper
ated by hand.

building which will become the
Houston County School System
headquarters later this year.
“The room eventually will be a
historical collection for the entire
county,” Nelson said this week. “We
are collecting all types of memora
bilia to go in the room.”
She and Walker agree this is not
just a “Perry project”
‘This is for all Houston County,”
Nelson said. The school, one of the
first consolidated efforts in public
education in Georgia, served all of
Houston County at one time.
The first phase of the project will
include items typical of a 1925
classroom. That was the year the
consolidated building replaced
almost 30 small schools in Houston
County.
