Librarian visits Rotary Club
From Staff Reports
Mac Teasley, assistant director of the Eisenhower Presidential
Library of Abilene, Kan., told members of the Perry Rotary Club recent
ly that the library houses much more than just documents about former
U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
“There are 25,000 pages of documents concerning the late Gen.
Courtney Hodges of Perry,” Teasley said.
The library serves researchers from throughout the world, Teasley
said. Often researchers spend as much as two weeks to a month
researching material for books and disertations.
The library compound includes a chapel where Dwight and Mamie
Eisenhower are buried, along with a home which Eisenhower occupied.
Teasley is brother-in-law to Rotarian Ron Bell, a resident of Perry.
