Funding for the newspaper project came from donations and grants. The estate of Alice L. Gilbert (former Perry Librarian) and a grant from Flint Energies Foundation funded the digitization of the newspaper along with permissions granted by the Houston Home Journal.

THE MUD AND THE BLOOD AND ... Members of the Family Motor Coach Association help push one of their fellow
members’ automobile through the mud March 28. Because of heavy rains during the convention, many FMCA mem
bers encountered problems leaving the Georgia National Fairgrounds and some motor coaches had to be towed out

GETTING OUT While a cameraman records his progress, a member of the Family Motor Coach Association
attempts to negotiate a graceful exit from the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter. Many of the FMCA members
arranged to park at private or public parking lots in the city during the convention to avoid muddy conditions at the
Fairgrounds.
