Kiwanis Club about the new
program which helps victims
of violent crime during a
recent speech. The program
included information about
how victims can get help
through the state system.
Persons who feel they have
been victimized can call the
Victim Assistance Program
at 542-2065.
Parker receives
Chic-fil-A scholarship

Chick-fil-A has announced that
Perry resident Michele Renau
Parker has received one of the
firm’s SI,OOO team member schol
arships.
According to Jerry Johnston of
Chick-fil-A Inc., Parker was nom
inated by her employer, Michael
Lee, operator of the Chick-fil-A
restaurant in perry.
Parker is a student at Georgia
Southwestern College in
Americus.
The scholarship program is
reserved for restaurant employees
who have completed their high
school education, have worked
with Chick-fil-A for two consecu
tive years; have more than 2,000
working hours with the company,
and who will be attending an
accredited school.
According to Johnston, since
the program began during 1973,
almost 11,500 restaurant employ
ees have received the scholar
ships.

Officer through April 12th. Georgia
certification is preferred but not
required. Applicants must be at least
21 years of age to apply. Before
applying for this position, you must be
able to furnish the following
documents.
’ A certified copy of your birth
certificate.
* Proof of graduation from High
School (Diploma or GED) or College,
if applicable. Must present original or
certified copies.
* Driver's license and social
security card.
* A certified or original copy of
military discharge papers (DD2I4), if
applicable.
* A certified copy of law
enforcement certification, if
applicable.
Typical duties include: Patrolling
specific districts by foot or
automobile, handling public
complaints, arresting violators of the
law, responding to accidents, issuing
the necessary summons or tickets
when appropriate,
preparing/compiling reports and
;maintaining police records. Performs
other related duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements: Must be
willing to be fingerprinted and a
search made of local state and
national fingerprint file to disclose any
criminal records. Pre-employment
tests will include: psychological,
polygraph, physical fitness, and
physical agility. Must possess or able
to obtain a valid Georgia Driver's
License.
Benefits: Medical, life and dental
insurance, pension plan, credit union,
paid vacation and sick leave.
Starting pay for this position is
$16,926.00 per year (negotiable for
certified officer with experience).
