Hornets drop golf
match by one stroke

Folks who strolled around the
Perry Country Club course last
week following the Westfield and
Southland golfers could have
been watching the two best teams
in the Georgia Indepdent School
Association.
Southland won the match by a
single stroke, 304-305, with
seven of the eight golfers shoot
ing in the 70s and the other,
Southland’s Chaney Haugabook,
shooting an 82.
Low medalist was Southland’s
Will Easterlin, a life-long golfer
who lives adjacent to the
McKenzie Memorial course in
Montezuma.
For Westfield, Robert Harrison
and Ed Strickland shared low
medalist honors, each with a 74.
Other sub-80 scorers were
Southland’s Brian Hawver at 74,
Trip Grace of the Raiders shot 75
and Westfield’s Matt Moore and
Wes Coody had 78 and 79,
respectively.
