Sullivan, 66, who died April 8,
1996. were held April 10. 1996 at
Byron United Methodist Church
with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Fort Valley.
She was a lifelong resident of
Byron and a Methodist.
Survivors include her guardian.
Gayle K. Borah of Perry: sisters.
Beatrice Williams and Mable
Allred, both of Byron.

Lindsey, 83. who died April 8.

Evergreen Cemetery.
She was a member of Parkway
Baptist Church, VFW and DAV.
She was retired from Robins Air
Force Base.
Survivors include her children.

Verna Yaughn, -all of Macon; and

A native of Houston County, he
had resided in central and south
Florida for 20 years before return
ing to Perry 22 years ago. A retired
employ ee of Claussen Paving, he
was also a former long distance
owner, operator and dispatcher in
the trucking industry. He was a
WWII Army Veteran, a member of
the DAV and of the First Baptist
Church.
Survivors include wife,
Rheunette Ford Griggs: daughter.
Stanford Ellen Durrance of Perry;
sister. Jesslyn Griggs Dole of San
Clemente. Calif.; two grandsons,
Lance Alan Durrance of Atlanta
and Troy Wallace Durrance of
Orlando, Fla.
He w'as preceded in death by a
daughter. Lucretia “Tish" G. Hall,
wild-life artist of Perry and
Montezuma.

Officials with the Georgia
State Patrol at Perry have
announced that 10 traffic acci
dents in Houston County were
investigated during the month of
March These accidents resulted in
no fatalities and one injury.
In the area of enforcement by
Post 15. Sgt. First Class D.J.
Brack said his officers had made
551 arrests and issued 293 warn
ings during the month.
Various courts in Houston
County disposed of 123 pending
traffic cases during the month
with the following: 115 guilty
pleas, no bond forfeitures, no
cases dismissed, O cases no
record, and 8 nolo contendere
pleas.
Brack said fines and forfeitures
amounted to $21,062.97 for the
month of March which was paid
to the courts of Houston County.

Quintet provides Church Home concert

The Colony IV Brass Quintet
performed at the Church Home
for the Aged March 16, before a
group of residents, staff and visi
tors.
The performance was part of a
continuing series of concerts
sponsored by a matching grass
roots arts program grant adminis
tered through the Macon Arts
Alliance and the Church Home.
The professional quintet is
composed of Charles Westman,
Ray Laurance. Sandra O'Connor.
Vic Dunston. and Doug Hill. The
five musicians played a varied
program encompassing renais
sance, hymns. popular.
Broadway, Dixieland, marches
and jazz.
This concert was the second in
a series of four music programs at
the Church Home, located along
U.S. 41 about five miles north of
Perry. The programs are offered

especially targeted to senior citi

The next program will be held
on April 17, at 3:30 p.m., and fea

head of the Music Department at
North Georgia College in
Dahlonega. Chapman will play an
all Gershwin program.
The final program will feature
Margaret Washburn, violinist and
member of the Macon Symphony
Orchestra. All concerts are free
and open to the public.
