Flag Day service to honor retired Col. Parks Houser
A special service will be held
June 14, Flag Day, on the back
steps of Perry United Methodist
Church, honoring retired . Col.
Parks Houser.
A proclamation from Mayor
Jim Worrall will mark the day as
Parks Houser Day in Perry.
This recognition for a native
son of Perry is open to the public.

Baccalaureate Service for all
seniors of Houston County
schools will be at 3 p.m., June 2,
at Shirley Hills Baptist Church.
All seniors and parents are
encouraged to attend.

second promotional rank testing

The Perry Business Women’s
Club members held their last
meeting of the club year May 9,
with a covered-dish dinner at
Ochlahatchee Club House. Secret
pals were revealed and new offi
cers installed as follows:
President - Betty Seago;
President Elect - Rachel Wooden;
Secretary - Betty Nelson;
Treasurer - Betsy Willard;
Parliamentarian - Betty Goodroe.
Members selected Betty Seago
as the club’s Woman of the Year.

attended the Promise Keepers
Conference in Atlanta for a time
of worship May 24-25. The con
ference was sold out.

leaving May 29 for a summer of
mission work in the Philippines.
