Flag pole dedication part of Sunday program at BOE office
The Flag Pole Dedication
Ceremony will be held at 2 p.m.
on Sept. 8, at the Board of
Education Building at 1100 Main
St. The Rev. Marcus Tripp will be
the speaker.

U.S. Sen. Sam Nunn will be the
featured speaker at the dedication
ceremony for The Houston
County Board of Education
Complex and the Sam Nunn
Exhibit, at 1100 Main St. The
event is sponsored by the Houston
County Board of Education and
Alltel Georgia, and will be held
Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. Open House will
be held 2-4 p.m.

Special Celebration Day for Larry
Wood and his family Sept. 8.

cheon at the Fairview Room at the

The City of Perry will sponsor
a United Way Golf Tournament
Sept. 5. This will be a best ball
format, shotgun start at 1 p.m.
with 4-person teams. Registration
deadline is Sept. 4 at noon.
Tournament fee of S2O includes
green fee and golf cart. Sign up at
the Perry Recreation Department.
Tournament is not limited to city

will celebrate their 25th anniver
sary with a “Silver Anniversary
Ball” Sept. 14, from 8:30 p.m. to
12:30 a.m., at Shoney’s Inn on
Riverside Drive, at Tom Hill Sr.
Blvd. Music will be provided by
D. J. Gary Cook. Admission is $7
at the door. The dance is open to
the public.
The Macon Peaches Chapter of
PWP was chartered on September
11, 1971. This dance will be a
reunion for all former members
who are now remarried, as well as
those who are still single.
