Obituaries
Kenneth L. Blackstone
Graveside services for Kenneth L. Blackstone, 66, who died Oct. 30,
1996, were held Nov. 1 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Perry.
Bom in Houston County he was a veteran of the U.S. Army of two
years and served with the Merchant Marines for 42 years. He was of the
Jehovah Witness faith.
Survivors include daughters, Kim Hale and Leslie Ingersoll of Perry;
son, Steven Hicks of Perry; sisters, Deloris Hall of Femadina Beach,
Fla., LaVincie Plair and Anne Sinyard of Grovania; brothers, Richard
Blackstone of Perry and Hughie Blackstone of Kathleen; five grand
children.
McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins had charge of arrange
ments.
Michael Mike Alderson
WARNER ROBINS Services for Michael Alderson, 41, who died
Nov. 2, 1996, were held Nov. 4 at Green Acres Baptist Church. Burial
followed in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
A native of Orlando, Fla., he had lived in Warner Robins for the past
25 years. He was employed by the Houston County Sheriff’s
Department as a sergeant. He was of the Baptist faith and was a gradu
ate of Warner Robins High School. He was a veteran of the United
States Army.
Survivors include his parents, Raleigh and Martha Alderson of
Warner Robins; children. Jennifer and Megan Alderson of Warner
Robins; sisters, Janet Bloodworth of Warner Robins, Linda Carver of
Bradenton, Fla.; brother, Raleigh Alderson 111 of Lawton, Va.
Christopher smith Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Henna Sizemore
NEWNAN Services for Herma Sizemore, 90, who died Nov. 4,
1996, were held Nov. 6 at graveside at Southview Cemetery in
Moreland. The Rev. David Brackman officiated.
Bom in Hazard Ky„ she was a finish presser for a dry cleaning busi
ness. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist in Hazard and a member
of the DAR. She resided in Perry a number of years.
include her son, Ernest Sizemore of Moreland; two grand
children, Dale Sizemore of Moreland and Lynn Sizemore James of
Bainbridge; and five great grandchildren.
Martin and Hightower Hillcrest Chapel in Newnan had charge of
ai'jngements.
Eugene Eulos Blaylock
Services for Eugene Eulos Blaylock, 84, who died Nov. 2, 1996, were
held at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church on Nov. 5. The Rev. Claude
Slayton and the Rev. B.E. Simons officiated. Burial was in the Christ’s
Sanctified Holy Church Cemetery.
A native of Trumann. Ark., and formerly of Norfolk, Va., he had
resided here since 1978. He was a reitred self employed contractor
and a member of the Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church.
Survivors include his wife, Artie Belle Blaylock of Perry; daughters,
Sylvia Long of Falcon, N.C., Barbara Hodges of Perry, Betty Teresa
Ashford of Dallas; son, Kenneth N. Blaylock of Norfolk, Va.; sister,
Nola Mae Blaylock of Hanahan, S.C.; brother, Ira Blaylock of Pasadena,
Texas; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Watson Hunt Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
M. Lucille Jordan Gibson
Services for M. Lucille Jordan Gibson. 84, who died Nov. 3, 1996,
were held at Perry United Methodist Church on Nov. 5. Burial was at
Perry Memorial Gardens.
A native of Tift County, she had resided here 55 years. She was a
homemaker, widow of William Melton Gibson, member of Perry
Garden Club, former President of Farm Bureau of Houston, Founder
and leader of the first Head Start Program in Perry, member of Perry
United Methodist Church and Suzannah Wesley SS Class.
Survivors include her daughters. Melba Gibson Deen of Perry and
Margaret G. Lynn of St. Simons; sister, Mrs. Lillian J. Mullin of
Sarasota, Fla.; brother, Joe Lee Jordan of Orlando, Fla.; five grandchil
dren and three great grandchildren.
Watson Hunt Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Exchangeites selling Monopoly like game featuring Perry

At last, the promised board games, the “Game of
Perry” have arrived in town and are for sale at select
ed locations.
The board games, produced for the Exchange
Club of Perry, feature Perry businesses and have VIP
lists of many businesses and citizens from Perry.
The game is played somewhat like Monopoly, but
requires more skill in buying and selling commodi
ties and investing in the Commodity Futures
Exchange, according to club spokesman Judy Hall.
Players can wheel and deal and buy Perry busi
nesses and have fun doing it. “Have all the fun of
business ownership with none of the problems!”
Hall, a local businesswoman, said.
The games at only $19.95 each will make great

Robert Chase, a junior at
Harnett Central High School, was
named to “Who’s Who Among

Students.”
This is the
second year
he has been
named to
receive this
honor.
He is the
son of Lonney
and Cheryl
Chase of Angier, N. C., and the
grandson of Darrell and Peggy
Bell of Perry, and the late Roy and
Wilma Chase of Osbom, Mo.
Only 5 percent of students in
22,000 high schools are honored
in “Who’s Who” each year, and
only one-half of 1 percent are
honored for two or more years.
Since 1967, “Who’s Who” has
been the largest, most respected
publication in the nation recog
nizing students for their achieve
ments in academics, athletics and
extracurricular activities.
Chase has been invited to
attend the “National Youth
Leadership Forum on Defense,
Intelligence and Diplomacy” to
be held in Washington, D. C., in
February 1997.
At Central,he is a member of
the National BETA Club, a mem
ber of the Harnett Central
Orchestra, varsity soccer and
wrestling teams.
In addition, he has been in the
JROTC since his freshman year and
is a Ist Lieutenant. He has been
named an Academic All-Star and
