Texas with Habitat for Humanity
Again this year, the Campus
Chapter and Youth Programs
department of Habitat for
Humanity International in
Amcricus secured the location
for the work.
New Baptist congregation
forming in Perry
A new Baptist congregation is
forming in Perry The first meet
ing will be March 26 at the Best
Western Motel, located just
behind Cracker Barrel off
Marshallville Road
The church pastor, the Res
Dr Cliff French, is coming to the
area Irom Cordele. where he has
been pastor of a church for the
past. 10 years.
Earlier, he had a pastorate in
Louisiana tor 19 years He holds
degrees from the Midwestern
Baptist College of Pontiac. Mich
French said he is forming
Crossroads Baptist Church to
otter persons in the area a chance
to support an independent
Baptist Church
Our independence is repre
sented in our greater attention to
our missionaries.’’ French said
The church will meet at the
Best Western for the first several
weeks. French said

Youth Camp dates for
Houston lake Baptist Church will
be June 21-23 at Tructt-
McConnell College near Helen
and Unicoi State park
The youth will be sponsoring
a barbecue chicken dinner and
cake auction April 19 following
worship services Proceeds will
go toward the camp and other
youth needs lor the year.
Sing for Lije program is
March 26
"Sing for Life" will be held
March 26 at 7 p.m. at the First
Baptist Church of Perry The
Houston Lake Choir and
Orchestra will be participating
This is held in conjunction with
the Perry Pregnancy Care Center
Phoebe Dawson, director ot
the new Beginnings Adoption
Agency, will be the keynote
speaker for the program
Other musicians will include
the Northside High School
ensemble of Warner Robins and
the Faith Bible Fellowship
Church of Perry
Also on program are the duct
ot Thomas and lewis Shelton,
and One Heart, a trio from Perry
Preshy terian Church.
Christy Griffith of Centerville
Baptist Church is scheduled to
sing a solo.
Also serving as a soloist will
be Yvonne Edwards of First
Baptist Church, perry
There will be no admission,
but a love offering for the
