Obituaries 1 PEGCV JACKSON With Zach Willingham Jackson, Albritton to head Perry area elementary schools Fhom Staff Retoots New principals, both well known locally, have been named for Morningside Elementary School and Kings Chapel Elementary School. Darryl Albritton, currently the assistant principal at Perry High School, will become principal at Kings Chapel, and Peggy'Jackson, who has served for seven years as instructional coordinator at Morningside, will move up to the position of principal of that school. Albritton, a Perry native, is in his second year at Perry High School. Prior to that he was a physical education teacher at Tucker Elementary School for eleven years. He is a product of the Perry schools, having attended Perry Elementary, Perry Junior High and Perry High School, before going on to earn his bachelors degree at the University of Georgia. He also holds a master’s from Georgia Southwestern College and a specialist’s degree in admin istration from Georgia College. His wife, Terri, is a third grade teacher at Tucker. They have three children, Hillary, 7, Carson, 5, and Olivia 3. Albritton teaches an adult Sunday school class at First Baptist Church of Perry. “Kings Chapel is a great school with good teachers and a good reputation,” he said, “It’s really going to be a challenge, and I’m looking forward to it.” Jackson, who has had 25 years of experience in public education, is a native ofTurner County and a graduate of Tift College who began her teaching career in north Georgia. After moving to Perry with her husband Pat, and son, Ty (now a student at ABAC in Tifton), she taught at King’s Chapel for 12 years. She has a master’s in elemen tary education from Georgia State College and University in Milledgeville, and earned her administrative supervision degree at Valdosta State University. “I’m excited about next year,” she said, “We’ve got a great faculty, although it will be smaller next year since the teachers for the k-4 through first grade will be in the new primary school. We’re going to miss them. Rufus TrusteH G. Rufus Trussell, 73, of Bonaire, died April 18. Services were at 11 a.m. April 20 at the First Baptist Church of Perry. Chaplain Richard Willis officiated. Interment was at the Butler City Cemetery. Mr. Trussell, a native of Butler, died at his residence April 18. He was a graduate of Butler High School and South Georgia Technical School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the VFW. He was a retired district operations superinten dent with Flint Electric. He is survived by his wife, Sue Wilkinson Trussell of Bonaire; five sons, John Trussell, Joseph E. Trussell, Grady Trussell Jr., and Travis Hill, all ofWamer Robins, and Todd Hill of Hawkinsville; two daughters, Peggy Oakley of Warner Robins and Lorie Hamby of Perry; one brother, Luther Trussell of Charleston, S.C.; two sisters, June Woody of Brooks and Vivian Womble of Fairfax, S.C.; and 10 grandchildren. Wright Jr. CONYERS - Daniel C. Wright Jr., 71, of Conyers, died April 20, 1999. A native of Raleigh, N.C., Mr. Green had lived in Perry for the past 25 years. He was a former resident of Macon. He was a World War II Army veteran.
