PERFORMANCE ATHENS CREATIVE THEATRE Tickets are now on sale for the ACT's Summer Musical Series. The next two musical events are "The Music of Stephen Sondheim and Jerry Herman" on July 21-22 and "Those Crazy, Wacky Songs for the Kid in All of Us" on Aug. 4-8. ATHENS SYMPHONY The Athens Symphony has sev eral openings in the string section of the orchestra. GEORGIA CHILDREN'S CHORUS As part of the Summer Choral Festival, the Georgia Children's Chorus, currently in residence at UGA, presents a community concert. The three gallery cars carry the exhibit 'The Artistry of Space: The NASA Art Program,” which consists of 78 works by national artists illustrating the significant eras of NASA's history. These were chosen from a collection of over 250 works by American artists who have been invited by NASA since 1962 to be involved in the U.S. space program and interpret space flight through their art. Car 1, named "Power To Go" after Paul Calle's painting of the Apollo 11 launch, covers the early years and include* works by Norman Rockwell, Andy Warhol and Robert Rauschenberg, among others. Car 2 has a special meaning for Athenians as it is named "The Second Giant Step" after Lamar Dodd's painting of the maiden launch of the shuttle Columbia. This car's works cover the space shuttle missions and the tragic loss of the Challenger in 1986. Car 3, "Go for the Stars," named after P. A. Nibet's depiction of the Hubble Telescope being hunched, covers NASA's most lecent projects and future plans for space explo ration. Artrain will be parked on the railroad track adja cent to the north end of the Thomas St. UGA perimeter parking lot and will be open to the public on Thursday, July 13 and Friday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, July 15 fiom 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. SlO w/dip; Frontline treatment, SlO; Microchip implant.
