project from illustrious Athens-based
songwriter Alex McManus, who strums
guitar with Empire State and Vic
Chesnutt and blows a horn with
Lambchop. He'll play some cool,
melancholic tunes on guitar and organ.
Look for the limiteu-release single on
Sommerweg Records.
“DISCO INFERNO" (Boneshakers)
Full-on 70s dance night.
DODD FERRELLE & THE TIN FOIL
STARS (Tasty Worto) Local rock band
playing what singer-guitarist Dodd
Ferrelie calls ‘sonic Americana.'
SIMON JOINER (Caledonia) A singer-
songwriter in the classic sense. This
Nebraskan plays a slow-moving, sad-
sounding style of folk and pop in the
vein of Dylan. Cohen and Smog. The
latest album is titled The Lousy Dance.
LOFTY PILLARS (Caledonia) Joiner's
labelmates from Truckstop Records.
Powered by the soft, subtle pop
songcraft of multi-instrumentalists Wil
Hendricks and Michael Krassner. this
band blends piano and pedal steel with
traditional band instruments with won
derful results on the new album. When
