Campbell to Perform as a Part
of Wesley Monumental’s
Concert Series
of
Wesley Monumental Church
will feature Ronald
Campbell, Bass-baritone in a
free concert of arias, art
songs, spirituals and hymns
on Sunday, February 21 at
3:00 P.M. Wesley
Monumental Church is locat
ed at 429 Abercom Street at
Calhoun Square in the his
toric district.
A native of Macon,
Ronald Campbell studied
voice at Macon State
College, Howard University
in Washington, D.C and
Concordia College in
Bronxville, N.Y. His coach
es have included the late
Betty Allen, Andrew
Frierson, Sylvia Olden Lee,
William Ray and Gracie
Jones.
Specializing in
African-American spirituals,
hymns, opera and musical
theater, Campbell has per
formed in such venues as
The Kennedy Center for the
Performing Arts in
Washington, D.C., the
Marian Anderson Historical
Foundation in Philadelphia,
and numerous churches up
and down the east coast. He
has also performed with such
opera companies as Northern
Virginia Opera, Metropolitan
Repertory Opera and the
Civic Light Opera of Seattle.
Accompanying Mr.
Campbell will be Timothy
Hall, Music Director and
Organist at Wesley
Monumental Church. Hall
holds both Bachelor's and
Master's degrees in organ
and sacred music from
Westminster Choir College
in Princeton, New Jersey. He
is also Choirmaster at Christ
Church Episcopal and
Associate Director of The
Savannah Children's Choir.
