This is an important step forward for voter access, but it re mains critical that Chatham County continues to take ac tion and make early voting more accessible by offering Sunday early voting at all locations, expanding hours from 7am-7pm countywide, and opening more voting lo cations in high-traffic areas. Fair Fight expects half of all voters to cast their ballots early in person, and with SB 202’s new, cruel re strictions on line warming, it’s crucial that voting early is as accessible as possible. Research has found that of fering Sunday voting can in crease turnout among Black voters by nearly two percent, highlighting the importance of providing Sunday voting as an option in every coun ty across Georgia. Together with pro-voter elected offi cials and community lead ers, Fair Fight is advocating for county elections offices to offer the Gold Standards of Early Voting in order to prevent long lines and pro tect voting access. Last month, Fair Fight announced the Vote Gold Georgia Tour, a mobile advocacy initiative urging local officials to adopt these crucial standards to expand early vote access ahead of the fall elections. Members of the group visited Savan nah, Georgia in the first weekend of the tour to meet with local elected officials, state legislators, and com munity leaders and engage the general public in town halls to educate them on how to best advocate for ex panded early voting access in their communities. Fair Fight Press Secretary Matt Krack issued the following statement: “The inclusion of two days of Sunday early voting and expansion of voting hours is significant for Chatham County vot ers preparing to make their voices heard in the Mid terms. But we must contin ue to build on this progress by expanding Sunday early voting to all locations, open ing locations from 7am-7pm county wide, and opening additional voting locations to fully accommodate the expected voter turnout. With more Georgians registered to vote than ever before, it is critical counties adopt the Gold Standards of Ear ly Voting to safeguard our state’s elections system and ensure every eligible voter is able to cast their ballot. And with so much on the line-in cluding abortion rights, cli mate change, our student’s public education, quality health care, and more-Fair Fight will continue to help empower those advocating for greater early voting op tions in their community and urge counties to adopt the gold standards of ear ly voting access in full. We urge community members to consider serving as early voting poll workers in order to help expand access to the ballot box—because our de mocracy works best when we all play our part.’’ PUBLIC NOTICE Request for Proposal #2022-0016 External Financial Auditing Services The Savannah Airport Commission hereby extends invites for the submission of sealed bids for: RFP #2022-0016 - External Financial Auditing Services Solicitation Opening Date - Friday, September 2,2022 Solicitation Extended Closing Date - Tuesday, October 4, 2022 RFP Documents can be found on the Savannah Airport Commission’s Website at https \Usavannahs i rport. com/business/airport- business/nutice-lo-bidders/ under the Notice to Bidders Tab Responses must be sealed and returned to the Savannah Airport Commission: Attention: Mrs. Christy Dixon, 400 Airways Avenue, Savannah, G A 31408 (by mail), or at the said address located in the Administrative Area (3rd Floor) of ihe Airport no later than dose of business (5:00 pm) on October 4, 2022.
