Thirteen SCCPSS Students Named Finalists and
Alternates for 2024 Governor’s Honors Program
Over 4,200 students
were nominated to the state lev
el Governor’s Honors Program
competition this year and near
ly 1,500 of them participated in
this year’s state interview/audi
tion selection process. Follow
ing that month’s long process,
twelve SCCPSS students have
been chosen as finalists, plus
one as an alternate.
The Georgia Gover
nor’s Honors Program (GHP)
is a residential summer pro
gram for gifted and talented
high school students who will
be rising juniors and seniors
during the program. The pro
gram offers instruction that is
significantly different from the
typical high school classroom
and that is designed to provide
students with academic, cul
tural, and social enrichment
necessary to become the next
generation of global critical
thinkers, innovators, and lead
ers.
The 2024 Governor’s
Honors Program is scheduled
to be held June 16 to July 13 at
Georgia Southern University in
Statesboro.
Each year, thousands
of nominations are received
from each of the twelve eco
nomic development regions in
Georgia. Finalists progressed
through several rounds of in
tensive competition, including
interviews and performances,
to be named as finalists for the
2024 Governor’s Honors Pro
gram.
Congratulations to
this year’s SCCPSS Gover
nor’s Honors Program finalists
and alternates!
