You Cannot Make These Things UP!
Joseph H. Silver, Sr., President Silver & Associates
He overwhelmingly won in the
primaries resulting in each one
of his Republican challengers
dropping out of the race be
cause they realized the grip he
has on the Republican Party.
However, according to pub
lic information sources, fewer
than one-third of his former
presidential employees have
endorsed him. Said another
way, more than two-thirds of
his former presidential employ
ees have chosen not to endorse
him. Those not endorsing him,
including some of his former
cabinet members, have public
ly declared that they cannot en
dorse him, nor can they support
him. They are as follows:
Mike Pence, his Vice
President; James Mattis, his
Secretary of Defense; John
Kelly, his Chief of Staff; Mark
Milley, his Joint Chief of Staff;
John Bolton, his National Secu
rity Advisor; Cassidy Hutchin
son, his Assistant to the Chief
of Staff; Stephanie Grisham,
his wife’s Chief of Staff; Sar
ah Matthews, his Deputy Press
Secretary; Anthony Scaramuc-
ci, his White House Director of
Communications; Alyssa Farah
Griffin, his Director of Strate
gic Communication and Assis
tant to the President; Bill Barr,
his Attorney General; Nikki
Haley, his Ambassador to the
United Nations; and Mike
Pompeo and Rex Tillerson his
Secretaries of State.
When you look at
the list above, remember that
“Donald Trump’’ said that he
only hired the best people. Yet,
many of these “best people” re
signed from his administration
and are now refusing to endorse
him. They point to his inept
ness, his self-centeredness, his
character flaws, and his abuse
of power. These are people who
worked for him, and they are
telling America and the world
that he is not fit for the Office
of the President. Maybe the
American public should listen
to these former “insiders” who
saw him up close and personal.
They have publicly said that
he did not read briefings, that
he did not respect the generals,
that he was only for himself,
that he used the office of the
President for personal gains,
that he was enamored with dic
tators, that he was a habitual
liar, that he abused power, and
that he is a threat to democra
cy. If these folk told us who
“Donald Trump” really is, why
is it that he still is the choice of
the Republican party? The Re
publican Party of Regan is now
the party of “Donald Trump.”
“You cannot make these things
up.”
As “Donald Trump”
has campaigned he has been
short on policies and long on
insults which motivates his
base. Even those he has in
sulted have announced their
support of him, the most recent
of whom is Senate Minority
Leader “Mitch McConnell.”
On the campaign trail, “Don
ald Trump” has hurled the fol
lowing insults and racist state
ments:
• Any Jew who votes for the
Democrats hates their religion.
• General Mark Miley should
be put to death. (Miley was his
former head of the Joint Chief
of Staff)
• Immigrants are animals.
• Immigrants are criminals.
• Black people identify with
him because they dislike the
justice department, and they
like him because of his indict
ments that makes him relatable
to Black people.
• Some migrants are not peo
ple.
• We will not have another
election in this country if he is
not elected in 2024.
• “They” are coming in from
Africa.
• There will be a blood bath in
the country if he is not elected.
• He will become a dictator
on the first day in office if he
wins.
• The people who took part
in the insurrections are patriots
and heroes.
• He would stop support of
Ukraine.
• The US has no respect on
the world stage.
• He will lock up his political
opponents.
• We have a bad economy and
a weak military.
Even with these in
sults and racist statements,
Continued from Page 1
“Donald Trump” has a lock
on the Republican party. What
does this say about those who
support him? Obviously, they
know that hate speech is not
bringing the country togeth
er. Yet, they still support him.
“You cannot make these things
up.” There has to be a larger
agenda in this “Mega” move
ment. It is a move to suppress
the vote to maintain power. It is
a move to turn back the time on
diversity, equity, and inclusion.
It is a move to push white su
premacy. It is a move to create
laws to prohibit minorities from
obtaining any economic gains.
There are those who are in our
community who tell us how
they want the city and county
to prosper, yet they provide
support to “Donald Trump.”
Maybe it is time to reevaluate
those people and accept them
for who they are. They are sup
porting a racist, a businessman
who exploits those who he
does business with, a liar, and
a man who openly disrespects
women. “You cannot make
these things up.”
The only defense to
prohibit these blatant attempts
from doing more damage is to
get out the vote. Plan to elect
the candidate who has devel
oped an agenda to increase
jobs, repair the infrastructure
of the country, eliminate stu
dent loans, increase pay for the
military, protect social secu
rity, support Ukraine, support
Medicare, and continue to fight
inflation and reduce inflation.
Black men should not be lured
into the negative net set up by
“Donald Trump” by linking his
mug shot to the plight of Black
men. The plights are vastly
different and Black men must
see and know this - “Donald
Trump” has demonstrated that
he has no respect for Black
people. We must keep this in
mind when we go to the polls.
“You cannot make these things
up.” Do not fall for the hype.
Do not fall for the lies. Do not
fall for the misinformation. Do
not allow our democracy to fall
prey to a want-to-be dictator.
Vote as your life depends on it
because it does!
Atlanta Gas Light Reminds Communities to
‘Contact 811 Before You Dig’ During
Safe Digging Month
Warmer spring
weather provides the perfect
timing for outdoor projects. As
a part of National Safe Digging
Month, Atlanta Gas Light is
reminding everyone to contact
811 before they begin any dig
ging project. This includes jobs
such as mailbox/fence installa
tion, planting trees or putting
in a pool. It also applies to pro
fessional excavators when per
forming work such as paving,
tunneling, or blasting.
Contacting 811 is
free. There is no cost to have
your underground utility lines
marked. It’s also a law de
signed to help to protect both
our communities and to ensure
the underground utilities stay
safe and connected. Atlanta
Gas Light offers the following
safe digging guidelines:
Contact 811 Before
You Dig: Before starting an
outdoor digging project, con
tact 811 or visit georgia811.
com to request having under
ground utility lines marked at
least three days prior to dig
ging-
Allow the Required
Time for Marking: After con
tacting 811, allow time for the
underground utility lines to be
marked before digging. The
approximate location of the
lines will be marked with col
or-coded spray paint, flags or
stakes that correspond to the
utility. The natural gas mark
ings will be yellow.
Respect the Marks:
Only use hand digging tools in
areas near the utility line mark
ings.
Excavate Carefully:
Make sure the marks remain
visible during the project. If
the markings are no longer vis
ible, contact 811 to have lines
remarked. If a natural gas line
is damaged accidentally or
the distinctive rotten-egg odor
associated with natural gas is
present, call 911 or the Atlanta
Gas Light 24-hour emergency
phone line at 1-877-427-4321
from a safe location.
Atlanta Gas Light
maintains more than 34,000
miles of natural gas infrastruc
ture across Georgia. In addition
to those lines, there are under
ground communications, wa
ter and sewer lines, and other
utility lines. Knowing where
underground infrastructure is
before you dig helps prevent
injuries, property damage and
inconvenient service outages.
Atlanta Gas Light’s
Safe Digging Arcade is another
way for families to learn more
about the importance of safe
digging. Complete all eight
activities to become a Safe
Digging champion! The ar
cade uses science, engineering,
technology and math (STEM)
to educate children about how
their families can stay safe
and avoid damaging a utility
line when digging around their
homes.
