Their grant will be used to produce plush story dolls for children with limited mobility, fostering literacy and play through tac tile engagement. Rickey Brown III of RBIII Academy: RBIII Acad emy offers music lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. The Cecilia Russo Mar keting grant will allow them to purchase instruments and tech nology for their students, and create a subsidized program for students in need, ensuring music education is accessible to all. Maggie Lilly of Par ty of Hive: Party of Hive crafts delicious, healthy granola us ing local honey and gluten-free oats. A1 Rojas joins SCC as assistant general manager, bringing more than 25 years of comprehensive industry expe rience in finance, events, and facilities management to the role. Rojas previously served as general manager at the Jack- son (MS) Convention Com plex and the Oklahoma City Convention Center, as well as assistant general manager at Reunion Arena and assistant director at Kay Bailey Hutchi son Convention Center, both in Dallas, Texas. In his role with SCC, Rojas will oversee the finance, administration, human resources, and information technology departments, while also focusing on municipal policy, process optimization, and project management to en hance the SCC’s overall opera tions. Bringing over 20 years of industry experience to her role, Jacqueline “Jackie” Mitchell joins SCC as the assis tant director of Event Services. Mitchell’s extensive hospital ity and events industry back ground includes serving as di rector of events at Palm Beach County Convention Center and a variety of positions at respect ed organizations, including the Jackson Convention Complex, the Orlando Magic, Walt Dis ney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports, and the Richmond Sports Backers. With a proven track record in event manage ment, sales, and business de velopment, Mitchell will play a pivotal role in optimizing the Jacqueline “Jackie” Mitchell efficiency and effectiveness of the Event Services department. Her appointment reflects the SCC’s commitment to deliv ering exceptional service and maximizing customer satisfac tion. Savannah Conven tion Center is currently un dergoing an expansive trans formation project that will effectively double its size. Upon completion, the $276 million expansion project will double the size of exhibit hall space available for events to 200,000 square feet, add a new 40,000-square-foot ballroom, 15 new meeting rooms, feature a 58-foot-wide hangar door, and include a new 900-space parking deck. . “We are excited to welcome A1 and Jackie to our high-performance team,” shared Mark Smith, chair man of the Savannah Georgia Convention Center Authority. “Their leadership will be key in preparing the organization to handle the opportunities that come with expansion.” “A1 and Jackie join ing the team underscores Sa vannah Convention Center’s commitment to prioritizing the customer experience, enhanc ing the Savannah Convention Center brand, and maximizing financial performance,” said Kelvin Moore, general man ager of Savannah Convention Center. “We are building some thing special here in Savannah.
