The Savannah Tribune • Wednesday, May 29, 2024 9 Always Good, Always Great, Always Grateful! by Antoine Stewart Eighty-five broth ers of Alpha Gamma have re turned in a prominent way. The Alpha Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated at Sa vannah State University hon ored their 75th Anniversary celebration weekend with a banquet themed “Made By The Marsh” A Purple Legacy. Held in the King Frazier ballroom at Savannah State University on April 27th 2024, roughly 120 people were in attendance to attend this milestone for the chapter. To no surprise, Al pha Gamma not only showed up but showed out. Chaired by Bro. Antoine’ Stewart - Spring 2006, Bro. Corbin Spencer - Spring 2010 and Bro. Nick Harper - Spring 2012, the event included an elegant ambiance that was filled with chapter rec ognitions, entertainment, histo ry, laughter, and a keen sense of gratification. The riveting guest speakers of the program con sisted of three alumni brothers from the chapter that magnified different eras throughout the chapters existence. This was an excellent approach as it high lighted the transition of broth ers initiated through Alpha Gamma up to this milestone and its correlation with the transition of Savannah State College transforming into Sa vannah State University. Encompassing a band, DJ and special guests, the Alpha Gamma Chapter in corporated an auction, where those funds were combined with Chapter donations to raise over $4,000 to contribute to their endowment fund for stu dent scholarships at the univer sity. This was a special evening for not only the chapter but also the institution. For those that were able to see this event in person, witnessed what the epitome of Greek life should represent at Savannah State University.
