The Sunday school is thawing out, and will be full and flourishing before picnic time Misses Eddje Jarrett and Willie Richard¬ son will attend the reaping club at Clarks mill to night. Mrs Tabitha Harris is spending some weeks in Macon visiting her son and nu¬ merous friends. Mr Frank Wright and lady are spend¬ ing some time in Macon visiting relatives and recuperating. ‘ W. H. Dent is making an attractive and comfortable home of his already spacious residence. There were five parties in Knoxville and immediate vicinity last night. This is the livest town in America^ An important meeting of the county Alliance was held here Tuesday. It was attended by a large delegation. Ordinary 0. ?. Wright is now recover¬ ing from a case of mumps. He had more cheek than a government mule. Citizens of the country who have not visited this town in several months rarely know half the peopl whom they meet here, And the plaining mill has not been set up in Knoxville yet. Too many started to do the same thing, and they scared each other off. Dr. Mckown, of Jonesboro, is in town making preparations for moving his family here. W r e would be glad to welcome many such families. Certain reports concerning tho mineral wealth at Rich hill having gone out, tho attention of the public is attracted to the romantic spot. A good school is worth a great deal to any town. The welfare of the country depends upon the moral and men a' train¬ ing of the young. Prof. Power opened school Monday morning with an attendance of only nine¬ teen scholars. Blgsingame by prizing open the end door. After lummaging through a desk where the papers are kept, the burglar left thr ough the hack door. He took pains to close the doors behind him, and up to this time few, if any goods have been missed. The thief seems to have been on a hunt for money, but failed to get any. Burned With Po|a*h. A few days ago the infant hoy of Judge Gus Spillers had his mouth and eyts badly burned while playing with potash. The little fellow is almost well now, but it is a matter of wonder to many that the boy, was hurt no worse. The Macon A Alabama. As the Journal predicted some time ago, the railroad project has been revivod.
