Knoxville muy be pended upon to accommodate the public* Crawford county , oas many streams, fo.c water power of which ought to i.tiUzed. Mrs. Power has a nice class for instruction. This is more than could do last year. Wood is easy to get in Knoxville r a weather but is very difficult to tain when you need it. 'Hie first snow of the season fell here Konday last, though not sufficiently heavy as to show on the ground. Mr. Morgan Riviere haa purchased stock of goods owned by Mr. John kins, and is now a merchant. It is understood that a wealthy <if The Rock, Upson county, has rented StO re in this place, and will go into here. There is great complaint of bad roads various parts of the county. It is to advantage ot Knoxville to have good in its vicinity. Old eftizens of Crawford county will much interested in “Baker's” article on front page. It may be profitably read old and young. The A. & F. railroad must certainly well constructed. There have been accidents on this road than on any of age wo know. The geese were sad the qther morning. Teir pond near the court house was frozen. If they are silent when they are sad they ever mourn. Mr. Tom Harris left a few days ago Alabama* where he goes to accept a with a bridge company.' No doubt Tom will do well in Alabama. Mr. Robert Mi!pass appears quite 1 ome behind the counters ofJ. J. store. Give Robert a trial and we antee he will give you satisfaction. It is said that Rev. W,.M, Hayes P. --—— It is npt sate for strangers on a dark night to walk about much in Knoxville. There is.danger of their hurting themselves upon the lumber, which is so abundantly piied about town. A Bliss* Lecturer. Recently our town has been honored)?) by a visit from a blind lecturer. Dr. Busby is his name, so be says. Dr. Busby arrived here on Thursday last and remained until Sunday. On Thursday night he lectured tc a small crowd, at the court house, and after the conclusion of his remarks took up a collection, receiving a very meager sum. These who were present at the lecture pro¬ nounced it moderately good. The Doctor seemed to he a men of some intelligence and considerable information, but he did not make a very favorable im pression upon our people. Ho pititcncicol to be a Baptist preacher, but while here conducted himselfin a manner very ditier ent from the way in which any church member should act. It is not necessary to co into details, but he was guilty of aev eral things here which showed him to be a very badly backslidden Baptist, if one at ail. aid deserves pity The man is blind, pretends on that account, but he is not all he to bo. _______ If all the citizens of this place will a nitedly work for the good of the town, Knoxville will soon be a large'and pros¬ perous place. Otherwise, not much may ba expected of it. O. P. WEIGHT, LAWYER, KNOXVILLE, • - GEORGIA. Office in the Court House. fb 25 W. P.
