here Tuesday. •
Quite a lot of peaches are being
shipped from this place.
The young people enjoyed a pleasatM
social at the home of Mrs. E. A. Per
kins Saturday evening.
W. A. Robertson of Savannah visit
ed relatives and friends here this
week.
L. D. Strong of Macon visited
friends in Gordon Sunday, and while
here made a donation to the new
Methodist Church at. this place.
Mr. J. T. Clements attended the
I. 0. O. F. meeting in Macon last
week.
Fitzpatrick and the Gordon teams
are to cross bats here Friday after
noon.
There will be a ball game here Sat
urday afternoon between the team
from Big Sandy and the Gordon team,
which, no doubt, will be an interest
ing game as the Big Sandy Bbys*al
ways play with a vim. .
Presiding Elder O. F. Cook preach
ed here Sunday night, and asked, for
donations on the new Methodist'
Church that is being built at this
place. The subscriptions that night
amounted to $374.50.
The Old Maids’ Convention will be
given at the Gordon Academy Friday
night, June sth. Admission, adults.

ten up by some of the best talent
cf the town and will be highly en
joyed by every one in attendance.
Those that enjoy a hearty laugh can't
afford to miss this play.

We are having some fine -weather
for killing grass, and we farmers are
glad to have such weather just at pres
ent, as the grass is about to get
an upper hold of us.
Mr. Hoyte Thurmond and Miss
Mamie Payne, Brown Williams and
Miss Alma Thurmond spent the fourth
Sunday afternoon with Misses Lucy
and Mamie Smith.
Miss Mina Butler was compelled to
stop school on account Os ill health.
Sorry to learn of her illness, but glad
' to have her back home with us.
