I hoped th: t the General Assem

ple in the country' any good.
I hear Tom’s and John Temple’s
hornr blowing for office, but after
Taft’s and Bryan’s count they will
have to return to the study of the
history of Rome and running Hearst
newspapers. I believe Bryan would
be elected but for these factions—
they are helping to elect Taft.
Mingo and Frog Valley is al!
right during this hot August sun. It
seems that the.cotton crop ha.', been

eral appearance < f things around the

speculation about 50 per cent, in
September. Watch ’em grow.

Half the Battle.
“If I were you,” said the old bachi

Australian Cadets.
All children in Australia are drilled,
but the elder boys are attached to the
Australian military forces by means
cf the cadet corps. Almost every large
school has its band of cadets, who
wear neat khaki uniforms and are
armed with light rifles, in the use of
which they are frequently instructed.
Every year those boys have shooting
matches, and tiie scores prove that
among the youngsters there are many
who have already become skilled
marksmen.—London Standard.
