Reasons Why
YOU SHOULD HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH
The Irwinton Bank
Because
IT HELPS MY CREDIT TO PAY MY BILLS WITH CHECKS ON THE BANK AND CREATES A FAVORA
BLE IMPRESSION AMONG BUSINESS MEN, AS THEY NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH LARGER I COULD
MAKE THE CHECK.
Because
IT SETS MY FAMILY A GOOD EXAMPLE AND SHOWS THEM THAT I HAVE THEIR WELFARE AT
HEART, BY TAKING CARE OF MY MEANS.
Because
I DO NOT ENDANGER THE LIVES OF MY FAMILY OR MY OWN $Y HAVING THE REPUTATION OF A
MAN WHO KEEPS HIS MONEY IN HIS POCKET OR.HIDES IT ABOUT HIS HOME. 1 BELIEVE FUNDS
ARE SAFER IN THE BANK THAN IN MY POCKET OR AT HOME.
Because
IT WILL HOLD ME UP WHEN I AM SICK OR OUT OF WORK.
Because
A bank account creates a desire and pride to make it as large as possible, an<f it is wise for all of ua to pro
vide for the "RAINY DAY" which comes sooner or later.
Because
If I pay my debts by drawing check on the bank, the check must be endorsed before the tank will pay it, and
then it becomes a legal receipt for mV money paid. No one can claim I did not pay them, as I can show their
endorsement on the check which pa id the debt.
Because
If I keep a good account with the bank and meet with some disaster and do not have sufficient money for
my purpose, the bank feels under obligations to loan me money, if 1 can secure them. The bank will nearly al
ways lend its depositors money when refusing to make loans to other people.
Because
It gives me a standing at home which can come in no other way. I am not regarded as one of “the ne'er
do wells" of the community, not able to have a bank account, or as one of the suspiciously ignorant, who are
opposed to all advanced civilization.
Because
If I have an account, the officers and directors' of the bank appreciate the confidence I place in them, and
they are always willing te give me advice on business matters, in which they are often experts. They are
sometimes well versed in commercial law; and their advice is free to their customers. It pays me to be
on good terms with a polite, clever, capable banker.
Because
I do not give the wrong change and always have the right change. I a® not tempted to buy things be
cause I have the money in my pocket, it systematizes my affairs and enables me to run my business in
stead of it running me. 1, see our best and most successful business men with bank accounts. I believe my
home bank is solvent, conservative and courteous and to be composed of honorable and worthy men.

MINGO ITEMS.
Rev. C. W. Jordan filled his
appointment at Salem the sec
ond Saturday and Sunday, to
large congregations.
C. C. Dorminyand R. L. Da
vis were at church Sunday in
their new automobiles, which
numbered six at church that
day. I believe everybody will
get one, from Possum Trot to
Turkey Hollow, and our roads
are bad. I know of -nothing bet
ter that we could do than to
float bonds and enlarge our
road force, and build up mod
ern roads, as soon as we can.
After measuring up all the
corn sales, I believe E. J. Free
man has the best corn I have
seen or heard of in our county.
Our corn and cotton is 10 per
cent over an average crop and
the farmers are blue over pres
ent conditions. The wet weath
er has caused the gathering to
stop for many days.
Miss Nora Wynn has return
ed home from a visit among
friends at Lovet, Ga.
R. A. Warren visited his
i daughter at Blackshear Ferry
I last Wednesday.
Mrs. Nannie Lake Perry
passed through Frog Valley one
day this week.
J. T. Holland made a trip with
cotton last week to Dublin.
The market for wild eats is
so unreliable our boys have de
cided to plant no more.
And now’ congress has ad
journed. Mr. Taft has got busy
putting up his gaps. But I be-
Woodrow Wilson can thrown
them down in time for the dem
ocratic hosts to march through
to victory in 1912.
After attending the summer
picnics and big meetings and
visiting around some at home
again, I have enjoyed myself ex
tremely well for one of my age
and disabilities. I don’t think it
safe for old folks to travel at
this day the speed that human
ity is going. We old folks are
subject to be run over by the
rushing multitudes.
Home is the happiest place to on
earth
And has been all the days since
my birth.
Where I can make my couch on
the floor.
And no one complains if I kick
and snore;
Where peace and love reigns su
preme,
And not ferrits of evil are often
seen;
Where the Holy Spirit visits
night and day
To guide me along the narrow
way.
UNCLE JAKE.
CANNON-WOOD.
What was a great surprise to
the people of Irwinton was the
marriage of Miss Pearl Cannon
and Dr. H. C. Wood, which took
place last Wednesday afternoon,
September 6th, at 3 o’clock, in
the presence of just a few
friends and relatives. Rev. C. W.
Jordan united the two in mar
riage at the Methodist parson
age.
Mrs. Wood was one of Irwin
ton’s finest young ladies and
has lots of friends wherever
she is known. Dr. Wood is a
young man of fine character and
sterling manhood. He has prac
ticed medicine in this county for
six or seven years and is well
thought of by nearly every one
in the county.
The Bulletin extends heartiest
congratulations to Dr. and
Mrs. Wood.
Loss of Time Means Loss of Pay.
Kidney troubles and the ills it breeds
means lost time and lost pay to many
a working man. M. Balent, 1214 Lit
tle Penna St., Streator, 111., was so bad
from kidney and bladder trouble that
he could not work, but he says: “I
took Foley Kidney Pills for only a short
time and got entirely well and was
soon able to go back to work, and am
feeling well and healthier than before.”
Foley Kidney Pills are tonic in action,
quick in results —a good friend to the
working man or woman who suffers
from kidney ills.
For salo by all druggists.
