PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE
CITY OF PERRY
F 6 1999-2000 BUDGET
In accordance with the Official
Code of Georgia, Annotated 36-81-
5,6, this is to advise the public that
a public hearing will be held on
June 23,1999 at 4:30 PM at City
Hall for the first reading of the City
of Perry 2000 Fiscal year Budget.
The proposed budget may be exam
ined on weekdays at the Office of
the City Manager between the
hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. All
interested citizens will be given the
opportunity to give written and/or
oral comments.
makes a big project every
year, this one may top the
list, according to metal class
teacher Ross Harridge.
The grill is formed of two
complete halves on which
the operator can smoke or
grill and is mounted to a
trailer. The chimneys on the
top can be taken off for
garage storage
One of the most unusual
features of the project is
that it was built without a
pattern. The young men
who worked on the grill said
that building it without a
pattern to go by took a lot of
"trial and error."
The budget given to the
metals department by the
Board of Education is SI ,000
less than needed each year
for tools, supplies and other
necessities. Harridge said.

Members of the metals class
make smaller grills during
the year which are sold at the
Houston Ace Hardware store
to help maintain the needs of
the class.
Tom Williams, owner of
the hardware business
located in Bonaire on Ga.
247. said the smaller grills
are extremely well made and
popular items in his store.,
"We sell them for the
kids to try and help them
raise the money they need
for their class each year, “
he said. “It’s not too hard,
the grills don't stay around
too long."
The young men said they
enjoyed their work on the huge
grill and most plan to continue
in the sheet metal field with
more education at one of the
local technical schools.
