Summertime ... time for neat
and humidity, peaches and
watermelon, and that favorite
time for generations of kids:
Vacation Bible School.
Perry Presbyterian Church tra
ditionally has one of the first VBS
programs of summer, and theirs
was under way this week, with
121 children guided by 40
helpers. Half of the staff are teen
volunteers from the church
youth program.
Tuesday morning, the youths
were busy with a variety of activ
ities. Some were shouting,
stomping and singing “If you're
happy and you know it," while
others enjoyed crafts projects,
had refreshments and played in
the church playground.
This VBS at Perry Presbyterian
is coordinated by Bonnie
Franklin and Deborah Mason.
The theme is “Let Your Light
Shine for Jesus."
Coming up soon will be the
Perry Second Memorial Baptist
Church Vacation Bible School,
which will be held in the evenings
from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. from June
28 through July 2.
REFRESHMENTS Nathan
Lowery And Austin Sichelstiel
enjoy juice and cookies during
their playground time.
Cindy Gentry is the VBS
director.
There will be classes for
children ages four years
through grade six. The
theme is “Mount Extreme:
The Ultimate Good New
Challenge. Climbing to New
Highs with Jesus.”
On July 2 at 6:30 p.m.
there will be a family night
celebration with hamburg
ers and hot dogs.
For more information or
to register, call the church
office. 987-4803.
