Our recent partnership has us feeling good ail over.
Our recent partnership with Crossroads Bank of Georgia gives us a total of ten offices. The joining together of
these two banks also gave us a new name: Security Bank. That’s because both banks are now state chartered, so
the word National had to go.
Now we’re all over middle Georgia. So while others are being taken over by out of state banks, we’re strengthening
our local commitment. Giving us the opportunity to make banking with Security even more convenient. And along
with that convenience, you get great products and a level of personal jn m .
service that* second to none. I'jfV
So come see us. We’re easy to find, because now we’re —■■■■■■— '■**

Eula Bannister, at 88, is
the oldest member of the
historic King's Chapel
church, having been “bom
into the church” in 1911.
Her granddaughter, Tan
nya Duncan, described her
as a model of the “Biblical
woman” as described in (he
Book of Proverbs “a
woman of strong character,
great wisdom, many skills
and great compassion.”
Bannister was married to
the late Charlie Bannister
for 66 years. The couple
had 12 children, of whom
eight are living. Bannister
has 24 grandchildren and
25 great-grandchildren
(with another on the way).

Just for the record, a bus
is any vehicle which weighs
more than 10,000 pounds
and carries more than 10
people. That covers almost
everything from vans to
motor coaches with up to
50 passengers.
From what information
that is available, a major
cause of fatalities in an
automobile accident is the
fact that people are thrown
(ejected) from the vehicle
when their seat belts are
not fastened.
This is what the recent
study on the most danger
ous aspect of a bus wreck
revealed passenger ejec
tion.
Frankly, I have never
understood why seat belts
were not required in buses
if they are required in auto
mobiles. Seems the chance
of ejection on a bus would
be greater than it would in
a car due to the large win
dows.
'* ’So. if “ejection is a major

concern, then seat belts in
buses certainly make sense
if they make sense in cars.
When comparing the size
of a bus body to that of an
automobile, seems that a
person riding on a bus
without seat belts could be
injured more seriously in
an accident simply by being
tossed around more.
Young children on school
buses without seat belts
have always been a con
cern. The law says we have
to strap them in the auto
mobiles, but many don’t
even stay in their seats
while on the school buses.
Mandatory use of seat
belts in school buses could
also make life easier for the
driver who also is responsi
ble for discipline on the
buses.
If we are going to man
date the use of seat belts in
passenger vehicles, then
most certainly they should
be mandated in buses as
well. Only makes good

He was recognized espe
cially for his faithful and
punctual attendance at
church services.
He was married to the
late Minnie Lee Anderson.
The couple had nine chil
dren, two of whom are still
living, and a number of
grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
One of his grandchildren,
the Rev. Emoiy Ughtfoot,
said at the service that he
was influenced to become
an ordained minister
through his grandfather’s
example.
