Tribble
newspaper is a mirror of
southern Houston County
each week, giving you a
chance to look at your
selves. It is an honor and a
grave responsibility to be
your mirror, knowing all
the while that what we

onest, comprehensive and
written with compassion.
There are times when a
responsible newspaper has
to be a light as well as a
mirror. Often there are sto
ries we don’t enjoy printing.
Some of these stories
require digging through
documents and asking
questions which are not
pleasant. Often these sto
ries hurt our friends and
families and we don’t like to
do that, but it's our job.
When doing controversial
news stories, our editors are
asked to look and promote
the good that can come of
the story, and to please
write it with compassion.
Some communities
where we publish newspa
pers have recently done, or
are working on histories of
their communities, and
that is good. There Eire folks

Once you decide to gath
er some historical informa
tion, there is no better
place to begin than in the
files or micro film of our
newspapers. Our commu
nity newspapers write his
tory on a weekly basis. It is
our Job to give you com
plete, accurate accounts
each week which will
chronicle the events occur
ring in your community.
If we produce quality,
community oriented news
papers, then we will have
done our Job toward pre
serving the historical
record of this community.
Yes, each week we not
only print the “big” news
which happens in the com
munity, but the “small”
news as well the news
regional newspapers don’t
touch like community
columns, births, honor
rolls, pictures of graduates,
engagements, weddings,
anniversaries, retirements
and obituaries, all at no
cost. They are an important
part of history, too.
Next week the final col
umn on community news
paper publishing. Stay
tuned.

Try to a normal life

is not easy. ,
I no longer drive through
fast food lanes. I have to
think about my food and
my lists. I am grateful for
the Perry Hospital diabetic
management class and for
the information on what
and when to eat from the
dietitian there.
Secondly, I needed a
biopsy on a weird little
mole on my leg. Third, I
broke my little toe. I am
still having trouble putting
on some shoes.

But then, my mammo

I was crushed. I couldn’t
figure out how I could have
managed to be so unlucky.
However, further testing
showed no cancer present

reminded me that monthly

mammograms, and check

I have lost eight pounds

Though waiting on the

I am lucky. I have my
