Brannen second in Charlotte race
Special to the Home Journal
Members of the 911 car
crew spent a day going over
the vehicle before the team,
with driver Walt Brannen
of Elko, headed to Char
lotte for a legends race.
That time proved well
spent as Brannen started
his heat fifth, based on
points, and moved up to
finish second in the race.
That finish, coupled with
a handicap system, put
Brannen in the fifth slot for
the feature race.
Again, the crew stepped
in and made changes to
the vehicle, including a
gear change which helped
Brannen keep traction on
the wet track.
From the start of the fea
ture Brannen worked the
traffic well and with all the
bumping going on held
onto fourth for most of the
race.
