Squirrels provide more
nuisances to homeowners
than any other animal,
Jason Chapman said July
29.
Chapman, an employee
of the Department of Nat
ural Resources Fort Valley
wildlife office, told mem
bers of the Perry Exchange
Club squirrels lead all
other animals in nuisance
reports.
“Squirrels love to eat all
the feed from bird feeders."
said Chapman. To stop
squirrels from getting to
bird feeders. Chapman
suggested putting the feed
er on a pole in the middle
of the yard, away from
trees, and putting a baffle
on it.
Chapman also offered
suggestions on how to get
rid of deer, geese, and fox.
As for the alligator under
the bridge at General
Courtney Hodges Boule
vard “he isn’t hurting any
one. That is his normal
habitat."
Chapman added that if
the alligator begins to wan
der from his area or threat
en people, the alligator
would be reclassified and
subject to relocation or
mission to a publisher.
In addition, Bloodworth
was notified one of her short
stories has been selected for
publication in the fifth
annual Flint River Review
which showcases Georgia
writers.
The conference was
attended by writers from all
the southeastern states and
several others as well.
The conference offered
advanced instruction and
manuscript evaluation by
writing professors, authors,
editor, agents, and publish
ers.
It was held on St. Simons
Island, June 20-26.
Squirrels are greatest cause of animal
problems for homeowners in the area
death.

presentation, Exchange
