Rooks, Lawson exchange June 19 vows
Kollyn Elisha Hooks and
Robert Reeves Lawson
exchanged wedding vows in
a ceremony held at First
Baptist Church of Perry at
6:30 p.m., June 19.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Ellis
Rooks of Fort Valley, and
the groom is the son of
Mrs. Ella Ann Lawson of
Perry and the late Mr. Hugh
Lawson Jr.
The Rev. James Everett
Shipley performed the dou
ble-ring ceremony. The
focal points of the church
decorations were topiaries
filled with white roses,
enchantment lilies and
freesia. Greenery flanked a
brass arch covered with
fresh foliage.
Brass candelabra hold
ing white tapers completed
the background for the cer
emony. The pews held cas
cades of white roses,
enchantment lilies, green
ery and white illusion bows
while each window was
decorated with a wreath.
The wreaths and all
arrangements were
adorned in the old fash
ioned tradition of fresh
greenery from the garden.
Wedding music was pro
vided by Tammy Conner,
pianist, Marilyn Hooten,
organist, Monica Hargrave,
harpist and Tommy Storey,
vocalist. Music selections
included “Surely the Pres
ence of the Lord” and “The
Lord’s Prayer." The proces
sionals were “Canon in D"
and “Trumpet Voluntary.”
The recessional was
‘Trumpet Tune."
The bride's sister, Krystal
Eden Rooks of Fort Valley,
was maid ,of honor and Ali
Thomas Gamble of Fort
Valley was n atron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Melis
sa Claire Allen of Atlanta;
Angela Margo Bennett of
Eatonton; Jeanna Lynn
Bishop of Perry: Angela
Elizabeth Goodwin of Perry:
Tosha Leigh Hays of Seat

Tracey Doles Will of Athens
was honorary bridesmaid.
The attendants wore for
mal length. sleeveless
gowns of soft pink satin
featuring a deeply scooped
back and rosettes at the
back waist. They carried
bouquets of pale pink roses

Jeanna Lynn Bishop of
Perry to Jimmy Lee Small
wood, Jr., of Perry. The
wedding is planned for Sep
tember 25, 1999, at the
Perry United Methodist
Church.
The bride-elect is the
granddaughter of Dr. Sid
ney Lanier Hancock and
the late Willa Mae Gates
1 lancock, and Bill and Eve
lyn Bishop all of Cairo,
Georgia.
. A graduate of Westfield
Schools, she attended
Macon College and Valdos
ta State University, where
she was a member of Phi
Mu sorority. She is
employed at the law firm of
Daniel, Lawson, Tuggle &
Jerles in Perry.
The groom-elect is the
grandson of Louise Farr
and the late Richard
Aubrey Farr of Elko and the
late Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Edwin Smallwood, Sr. of
Perry.
A graduate of Westfield
Schools, he attended Geor
gia College and served in
the United States Air Force
for four yeais. He is a sales
associate with Coldwell
Banker Robbins & Free
Realty in Perry.

The bride, given in mar
riage by her father, wore a
gown of white peau de soie
designed by the Wearkstatt
Collection. Styled with a
scooped neckline and
sleeveless bodice, the gown
had an A-line silhouette
beginning at the empire
waistline. At the back,
peau de soie rosebuds held
an oval chapel length train
of silk organza.
The bride's train and her
sheer illusion cascade veil
were both edged with satin.
She carried a bouquet of
white roses accented with
stephanotis and French
satin ribbon.
The bride’s and brides
maids' bouquets and all
the floral decorations in the
sanctuary were designed
by Grace Klouda.
The groom's uncle,
Reeves Moore Lawson of
Norcross and Tom W.
Daniel Jr. of Perry served
as best men.
Groomsmen were James

the ring bearer.
The groom, groomsmen
and ring bearer wore black
tails with white cummer
bunds, ties and gloves.
The mother of the bride
wore a formal length,
sleeveless dress of silver
satin which had a scoop
neckline and embroidered
waistline.
The mother of the groom
wore a full length gown of
beige crepe adorned with
sheer sleeves and floral
embroidery. Both mothers
carried arrangements of
stephanotis and roses.

the couple have made their

Lawson Jr.. Mrs. Hugh
Lawson Sr.; Reeves Law
son. Mrs. Robert Way and
Mrs. and Mrs. Thomas

rehearsal party for the
bride and groom at the
Perry Country Club.

Kessler, Smith exchange
vows at Gatlinburg
Brandon Kessler and
Tara Smith were united in
marriage on Aug. 7 , in a
ceremony held in the
Smokey Mountains in
Gatlinburg, Tenn.
They were attended by
Ryan Ferry, who served as
best man. and the groom’s
sister, Jennifer Kessler,
who was maid of honor.
